if you have the president , his White House, the Democratic Party, the media calling trump a nazi, a fascist, telling the American public trump will end democracy and be a dictator if he wins then you will end up with what happened tonight. Watch as the media twist this story to blaming trump , how well Biden handled himself and even demanding more gun control.
Despicable journalists already trying to play it down as him just being hit with glass shrapnel. You can clearly see the spectators in the background looking in the direction of the bullet trajectory to Trumps left.
I mean nobody has any idea who the shooter was. For all we know it was a revenge attack from someone close to one of the many women he sexually assaulted.

Google tells me that the shooter was 126metres away from the podium on that roof.
When I was growing up we were regularly shooting rabbits on the farm with a rifle and scope from not far off that distance. There were a lot of rabbits to practice with and the burrows were along a number of sheltered hedges so we didn't have to deal with wind, just the lack of range on a small calibre rifle.

I mean, you could be right but the odds of that being the reason why the assassination attempt was made are way way way smaller than it being a politically motivated assassination attempt.

Just saw on CNN that trump has put out a statement and says it was a bullet that grazed him, so it wasnt a piece of glass as has been speculated.

Its strange that the secret service did not secure the buildings that overlook the rally considering how easy it is for any one to buy a rifle in America and the lack of proper gun control laws it seems the shooter fired from outside the venue maybe from a roof nearby
Maybe it's not a good idea to have a rally in such a venue that's exposed and in sight of overlooking buildings
Condolences @briany, I understand this must be a troubling time for you. This will be the biggest catalyst for MAGA politics the world has ever seen. And Trump didn't even need to pay for it with his life.

Nobody is laughing here. You seem to have missed my point entirely as it was a serious one. People are trying in bad faith to blame his political opponents when we have no idea who the shooter was. I pointed out we don't know that information and it's pretty disgusting to try and turn an event like this into a political opportunity. I gave a random example that the shooter could be related to someone he sexually assaulted or harrassed (he has a long laundry list of alledged vitctims after all). Another possibility is that it is simply a mentally ill person, who was able to get their hands on a gun thanks to Trump removing the regulations on that during his last presidency.
I mean, the guaranteed outcome of this for the shooter was death so they were definitely mentally ill to some extent. An innocent person dies and it's utterly disgusting to try to score political points from it.
I'd love to know where that glass story came from, it does seem like an attempt to belittle what happened to him.

As I said, I find it rich Republicans talking about political violence being bad now while they were supportive of it before. It's only right their hypocrisy is called out.
No reason to believe it's not a bullet. If the light is right you can see rounds going downrange with the naked eye so catching one in a still isn't beyond probability. there were also several rounds fired, could have been an earlier one.
Looks like a round hit the hydraulics of a telehandler. Seems to indicate at least an intermediate-power round like a 5.56/.223
