I get Biden messing up names and stumbling. Trump was talking about a beautiful waitress he saw and Hannibal Lecter coming to diner and immigrant being released from psych wards before crossing into the US.
Trump and his party are going to use this like a nuclear missile directed at the White House. Its gonna be "Biden's attempt to assassinate Trump" 24/7. 40 million lunatics believe everything that comes out of Trump's mouth, it only requires a small percentage more to feel sorry for him and hand him a win.
Biden should've gone already and certainly shouldnt be running in November but if the Democrats have ANY interest in staging even a contest, they need to ship him out now and get a new nominee.
And now we will never properly know why. Cue the conspiracy theories.

Trump has already pledged to pardon the January 6th insurrectionists who were storming the corridors shouting 'where's Nancy?' This toxicity in American politics has been there for some time. It should be dialled down big time or there will be more of these incidents on all sides.
Pistol is my immediate thought as well, though I've no idea how one got that close. Maybe security levels are reduced for candidates vs actual presidents. If it were Biden, there would have been no way to get into that stadium/park/whatever-that-was without going through metal detectors. Hell, I remember metal detectors on College Green to go see Clinton.
Will probably work in his favour, maybe even win the election for him 🤷

From the video there's a woman in the crowd behind Trump who was recording the whole thing on her phone as it happened. Be interesting to see that angle.

Ah the way the protection detail acted on stage looks kinda fake, the audio still clear and crisp as they call out calmly and clear instructions etc… No mad fast dash to the armored SUV for safety etc… Trained professionals act professional under fire! (that's trained secret service, not actors I mean)
It's different than what we think off in movies. He's a former president under a secret service detail, absolutely no way it's staged.

No way to tell the lethality of the round. A round fired by an AR-15 is 0.003 of an inch wider than that fired by a .22. And it's half the size of a .45 pistol round.
Would make sense, it would possibly either have to be a higher caliber shot from much farther away or small enough weapon+caliber to conceal and get into the event.

Unfortunately this is perfect for Trump, the conspiracy theories will be in full effect and if the Democrats try to switch Biden now it'll be played by the Republicans as being related to this attack.
