It's not that old! It was only built 30 years ago, and has a B energy rating according to the listing.
It was just built in that style.
That would be my ideal house it has an aga id turn some of the ground in to a small walled garden.
A case of RTFM for me then 😂😂
Ah no, it doesn't look it, if I'd just looked at the pictures I'd have thought it was a lot older too.
Whoever built it did a good job - it looks like its been there for more than 3 decades.
has this been posted ? is the house split up, so you only get 26a , not 20a or 28 ?

needs an awful lot of work and zero effort in getting it ready for sale
A friend sent me a link to this house. It's gloriously impractical, but I love it.
It needs to be gutted, no point wasting time and money trying to make it look better.
The blocked windows next door tell you what the neighbourhood is like, handy spot to see people being escorted in and out of the Central Criminal Court though! 😁
That's gorgeous - but imagine having kids with only a spiral staircase up to the bedrooms 😫
That's a site with added demolition costs, basically.
The location on the map isn't quite right, though. The house is 3km to the north. Not far, but the map make it look like it's in Monasterevin city centre.
I wouldn't call Monasterevin a city 😄, but I get your point.
It just all adds to the glorious impracticality of it all, I went on street view and it's surrounded by ugly farmyard but still well hidden.
I like to use the term 'city centre' inappropriately. 😄
Trainee estate agent? (I am joking obviously)
This house is all kinds of crazy

That is just brilliant! A big fan of colour and patterns…and baskets, bread bins and ostriches 🤣
Correct; Anyone that romanticises spiral staircases never had to use them day in day out.
That Banagher house needs a total revamp and rewire as it has really old light switches. Mind you, you do get a decent site out back. I wonder what the sheds were used for back in the day. They look like the sheds farmers had years ago.
I love this one;

I'm picturing an old money, eccentric old lady who dresses in a similar manner and doesn't care what anyone thinks/thought.
I'm confused about it being advertised as suitable for a developer because the house has protected status. The shop also seems to be gone.
Amazing. Natural swimming pool too. Only gripe, in West Clare, I’d have keep the garage instead of converting it because of the weather if you’re gonna live there full time.
The very end of the garden has an access so I'm guessing chop that into it's own folio and build a house or two.
It's chocolate box pretty from the outside, and again the garden is nice, but I hate literally everything about the inside.
Oh that's so pleasing!
What gets me about this one is, with three good sized bathrooms, they couldn't fit a bath in any of them?
Instead, they put the only bath in a bedroom ?!?
At least one of those shower rooms could fit a bath, and have an overhead shower, if a third shower was really needed.
my thoughts exactly! How would you run a hot bath without steaming up your bedroom? And what if someone else in the household wants to take a bath?
Maybe they are like me and prefer showers. Maybe one person in the house has a bath rarely.
They all prefer showers, the bedroom bath on a plinth is just a notion! Though I suppose it might be more entertaining with two in it.
I'd end up using it for storage!
Ah, but it looks good in the photos on AirBnB - very aspirational!
🙄
I love the exterior and the views but Im not wowed by the interior. The walls around the patio area are blocking the views and light into the kitchen - its pointless. The inside is a bit meh - nothing special IMO.
