With it being that simple, I could get used to it. It's the location of the gear selector that bothers me rather than the lack of stalks. Still only a minor crib I would get used to if I do eventually change.
Rare enough that I need to touch the on-screen gear selector tbh, just for the odd 3 point turn or reversing into a parking spot. Most of the time the Auto Shift out of Park works perfectly.
Exact same for me I can't complete the finance application as the slider doesn't go beyond 13,000 but my deposit is higher and interest rate still showing at 6.9%…
If you've a higher deposit and you're getting the 0.9% it'd be worth considering throwing the balance of the deposit into trade republic or somewhere similar. It'll gain more interest than you'll lose on the car loan.
As was stated above, you just hit the same button to cancel or hit the other indicator button if leaving a roundabout.
I'm 54 years old and got used to it quite quickly. Given a choice, I'd probably prefer to have stalks but not for an additional €400 plus fitting!
Regarding the gear selector, it's even easier. Flick up to go forward, down to reverse. It's so easy and, as also said, it auto selects for you if you are parked near an obstacle.
I wouldn't change the gear selector, it's great!
I was against removal of stalks (well still am) but everyone with feedback is now seeing was easy to get used to and not as big an issue they thought it would be
€4,211 is the smallest deposit. If I wasn't working through my probation period I'd have bought by now.
Anyone know if you can get cash back from the trade in? i.e. I trade in for 15k, go 5k for deposit will they give me back 10k?
It’s an FI issue. Mentioned many times. Call them and they’ll confirm the actual rate.
Thanks for the info. Just teasing out getting one for the wife. Have a little left on her loan to clear.
It's 100% on Tesla that I can't get an accurate quote for finance on one of their cars on their own website. I'd like to buy a Tesla when I change next, but they make it difficult for a few different reasons. You need to really, really want a new Tesla to end up buying one.
Many people do "really really want a new Tesla" at the prices now there is nothing comparable in the market.
Buy the car. Deal with FI for the financing. Simples. Or buy another car and deal worth their finance house.
Don’t make it any more difficult than it has to be. If I was spending 40k on a car, I’d have to really really want it too, no matter what the brand.
The on the road price is showing here as 42,107, but the actual price on the Tesla website is 38,xxx.
Is there anyway to get the finance figures on the 38k number through finance ireland?
Yes. Just add 3.5k to the deposit you had planned to put down. That will give you the number after grant
How did ye get on with getting the finance rate updated to 0.9? I'll need to do myself in the next couple of days.
Have to admit, this is so so tempting.
I'm coming close to 60k on my 222, and i'd love to get a refresh. Under 200 per month….
We recently cancelled our order for a new M3 as the delivery was going to take too long. I had done a test drive of the vehicle however we then confirmed if we placed the order in my wife's name would the deposit was refundable under EU distance selling rules and the salesman Justin in Cork confirmed yes this would be the case.
The manager in Cork Jim Fox has emailed this morning to say that they would not be refunding the deposit as my wife had completed a test drive however this is incorrect she has never completed a test drive so not sure what he is referring to. Do they have any basis to hold onto the deposit? I can pull the call recording whereby the salesman confirmed our deposit would be refundable in full should we cancel if needs be but obviously don't think it should come to that.
escalate it to the uk team. was your wife with you on the test drive?
ContactUK@tesla.com
Doesn't matter if you test drove or not. The purchase took place online therefore distance selling regs apply. They are just purposely trying to be difficult. Tell them to refund or small claim will be initiated. No need to argue, they will refund.
This a 100%.
Test drive was booked under my name. She was in the car however could not test drive as their system was down and they had no way of taking a copy of her licence. As I had uploaded a copy of my licence the day before they said I could test drive the vehicle myself. Will escalate it now as whether their employee was correct or not the deposit was placed based on his promise.
Thanks! will push them until the refund is processed. Just wanted to be safe that I wasn't in the wrong.
This is really annoying. They keep changing offers and prices every couple of days. In last two weeks the 20k free supercharger kms gone, finance drops from 6.9% to 0.9% and a few days later it's now 0.99%. Not sure what the it would be like tomorrow morning.
Its still the best value car money can buy in Ireland, so you can’t really complain
I don’t think this is 100% correct. The order was placed online following a physical test drive. That was the clincher in the refundable or not motto I always had.
I may be wrong here though 🥵
I can see why a lot of people would think that however the contract only occurred when order was placed online. The test drive is of no bearing on the distance selling regs. For it to have bearing you would have to sign up in dealership.
Ignore all the talk from Tesla and just keep requesting it under distance selling regulations, they know they are in the wrong and just push back on those that are not aware of their rights.
It could be argued that by attending at Tesla's premises to test drive the car then you fall foul of the requirement of "the supplier making exclusive use of one or more means of distance communication up to and including the moment at which the contract is made" as some communication takes place in person. Whether or not you could count the test drive as being part of the actual sale process.
you are wrong, don’t worry.
