Okay?...
Local Lidl sold out of the handwash that was on offer in the app.
I got the free cream with berries deal. Strawberries sold out, lots of blueberries though.
I got free Pineapple chunks from last weeks treat.
When was the last time they gave a tray of apples? I thought it was ages ago but I found four in my fridge last night and they are in perfect condition.
Parkrun597
Loose Gala apple or
Melon chunks
From Thursday 8am
lol…now thats strange
lucky you!
I picked up chunks yesterday after confirming code on pricing label matched the one in the voucher. Got home and saw the chunks scanned through as rings, and so got charged full price for them.
Opposite for me, I've stopped going to Lidl or Aldi as the quality of their food especially any fresh fruit or veg is terrible. I find meat to be reasonable though but overall the quality of Dunnes products is higher. Maybe your local Dunnes is one of the worst?
Re dates - I find Lidl to be one of the better ones for things out on shelves that last a bit longer. Dunnes is the pits - full shelves of chicken or meat that goes off in 2 or 3 days. Every time.
I get pretty much all meat from lidl. Much better value and lasts longer than dunnes or tesco.
no pineapple
chunks anywhere lol
im not sure what major supermarkets are using close to sell by date meats for the deli ect, we always get the reduced meat for the chest freezer from tesco supervalu lidl dunnes and aldi.
tesco reduce items by 70% in the evening and its like a rugby scrum to get the discounted items.
aldi centra and supervalu are signed up for the too good to go app now also as part of the commitment to minimise food waste
I’d defo do that but there never seems to be any when I’m at that point, as I say seems a new thing. Dont think we have a 20% off section.
I generally hand it to the nearest staff member, I’ve picked up some stuff in my local (particularly bread/cakes ) that have had long past dates.
based on the activity of the last 2 months : they mark down 20% off the pieces that has best before in 1-2 days ; on the last day , in the afternoon they're marked 50% off .
But all expensive meat parts are usually left on the shelf with the meats, for the regular meat customers - there's a reluctance of some people to buy from the waste not corner (based on their more well known name of salmonella corner)
it's a sales thing : if you're looking for a good/expensive piece of meat , you'll take the 20%off one, and feel good for the deal you made
other stores could do the same, but they prefer to shift the expired meat to the deli department , for the rolls, sambos and all the tasty/spicy treats
Yep, the €10 minimum level spend has to be after any coupons, Re-turn vouchers etc are subtracted off.
I did a science and used my 5 euro pet qpon on a 12 euro spend, no scratchoff.
oh right. if it's busy & they're called to the tills a lot they'd get less done. haven't noticed it locally, they'll discount it a day or two out.
have seen the same as you with similar products in the wrong place though. i think they do when the other is sold out so as not to have bare spaces in the shelves. if you look back on this thread you'll even see a lot of that with the free offers.
Out of the cold fridge so whatever is nearest, does my head in, its a new thing, wondering are they short staffed or a new practice. Its lousy if someone gets stung and not everyone checks dates. I always root to the back looking for best dates. I'd say they hate me!
striploin steak ends up under the bread 🤣
where do you move it?
Anyone having issues with dates in their local Lidl's, noticed especially on meat stuff lots of out of date stuff on shelf (I always move it when I see it so no one gets stung). Also noticed this morning the 3 for €9 striploin (is 200g) but my place had the 400g under it with no 200g at all around. (I buy my steak in M&S, but just seems shady practice)
points are only for a certain number of locations, i still have treats on my app yes nothing has changed apart from the redemption of points
Dunnes is still the cheapest with 20% off for us !
It's not come to me yet. Do you still get the treats as well?
There is a five and a seven you can also redeem in that quarter though.
once per calender quarter fmd
Saving the points worked out in the end
personally I find shopping in Dunnes doesn’t work out any cheaper using the vouchers, the supermarket have factored in the voucher system into the pricing and so have Lidl here clearly, some like dunnes vouchers and good luck to them 👍🏻
My app has updated and you can now redeem Lidl points for cash.
€10 off is 10,000 points.
You get 25 points for a euro of valid spend so it's a tenner off for every €400 spent.
Anyone know how this compares to Dunnes vouchers and other rivals?
thanks all, my Lidl is (practically) all self-service. Is there a 'milk whole nut' that isn't included?
the 50% dark one in the picture is wrong : the codes matches the dark whole nut and the milk hazelnut only.
some staff at the till will know about the problem and tip you off if you're a regular customer, or let you pay for the chocolate if you have a bigger shopping - every little helps for Lidl too
