And wave your money goodbye
Any good deals on Lamborghinis this week? Matchbox or Corgi scale?
Try Mark's Models, Hawkins Street, Dublin.
Shall do. Grazie mille!
It's probably worth refreshing this thread... I'd say there was a bit of fomo buying the last few days.
This is worth a watch. It dispels a lot of BTC fud.
Politicians buying cybersecurity stocks :
There are also still tech layoffs too.
Hilarious timing just before the run up.
👀.
...
Some talk about retail switching to alts as they thing alt season in on and that explains why bitcoin is down while certain alts are up but who knows.
Regardless of the cause of the dip it’s a good healthy dip, the expectation is now a run up to 78k BTC
Goes up "It's great"
Goes down "The dip is great and healthy"
Goes down 40% "This is fantastic, buying opportunity"
I'm bearish at the moment, I want the price to go down, but I don't smother everything in this crypto-bro-ism stuff. A constant personal desperation to encourage other people to buy.

Great to have you back Dohn, yes the Porsche Cayenne is on hold for the moment, but it’s just a temporary delay
A constant personal desperation to encourage other people to buy.
I think a lot of it is down to trying to convince one's self to prevent doubts to creep in.
It’s fear of the Mt Gox payouts causing sentiment to flip to fear. The amounts are not that much relatively but it causes a domino effect which drops the price then liquidates the futures traders which drops the price further.
I half expected it to slide regardless. There's no hype for anything. That bull was too "early" and again, no headlines, no excitement, just a half baked attempt on Memecoins and AI coins.
That said, I wouldn't be surprised if it was similar to 2017 and had a spurt towards the end of the year either. Possibly triggered by an Eth ETF (but I can't think of anything else)
Apparently some institutions are shorting it to drive the price down for the returns, this could massively backfire if they over leverage and it pumps forcing them to buy back in to write off short positions, so who knows at this point. It could go either way. I wouldn’t touch either with a barge pole, ultra high risk.
Longing Sol, ETH and Render
Was there hype at this juncture in the last two cycles? I don't really recall anything, number go up was the hype as far as I can remember with all the bells and whistles like nfts tagged on as an afterthought, even the recent AI thing seems to have been an afterthought to the stock market fad and Bitcoin reaching the recent top.
2013 was a peak and a drop. 2017 was weird, there was a rise, followed by a "lull", then insanity. 2021 was just max insanity.
All underpinned by headlines and hype.
This one is like a muted 2017, with not much more than ETF's.
I'd tend to agree but it feels like you're getting ahead of the curve slightly, didn't those headlines generally appear after the high had been completely smashed, if we're holding to the 4 year cycle theory then next year those headlines will be in overdrive because we'll be approaching 100k(or whatever number it happens to be).
There's been few headlines that's the thing. Fewer generators of headlines. Lower hype.
In 2021 for example we had Defi, Memes, NFTs, Elon Musk, celebrities, crypto getting plastered all over sports events, etc, etc. All of which were creating mainstream headlines which created it's own manic frenzy. A snowball effect.
This time round we had BTC ETF and that's pretty much it. The only other crypto headlines to make mainstream were trials and sentencing. We'll see what happens later in the year/early 2025 but would be odd if that was "it" and we trickled down into another multi year crypto winter autumn
Looking decent already
What’s your liquidation threshold?
Maybe longing was the wrong word. I added to bags that I'm going to hold for this cycle. I don't use leverage.
I sold most of my Bitcoin in March between 58K - 66K and it's now mostly redeployed into alts. I think they'll provide a better return by cycle end.
Nice prices rn
Uptober is going the wrong way.
