I'm surprised too. I actually think it's an improvement and I can see PAS are trying to measure your potential, and not simply look at what you've done 1001 times before. This is good; it means they've listened to feedback.
It was unexpected though, and maybe that's what put people off. They didn't want to be the guinea-pigs!
Yes but in practice they seem the same. because if you run a project that changes established workflows and data shows the project was successful, then you have also demonstrated strategic awareness and change...if I'm not mistaken!
Anyway it's done now and I imagine the capabilities will be tweaked a bit for future competitions. They seem more flexible than competencies.
I started one
Heard nothing yet next stage. 2 weeks in now after the closing date for applicaitons. Should be hearing something soon.
Maybe today will be the day
The process will usually be slower than you than you think it'll be.
I applied for a separate HEO panel back in March and still haven't heard back, so won't be holding my breath on hearing back any time soon
it’s ridiculous how long it takes. Would of thought the overhaul would make the process quicker
Would anyone have any good site recommendations for the upcoming verbal and numeric assessments, to help get more focused etc.?
Has anyone heard anything yet?
No- not yet
Nada…:(
Nope.
Everything is moving so slow at the moment it's actually so frustrating.
With the delay with the EO comp prob nothing gonna happen for quite some time
What’s happening with the EO Comp?
They've delayed any further processing on those who've passed the interview, the email they sent said for a few weeks nothing else would happen. Could be holidays slowing them down with staff on leave
Emailed them today and they replied that we will hear this week
Oooh scary - best of luck to all, giving myself a 10% chance of progressing beyond the online tests!
I’m posting this again following Deegene’s post!!! Any suggestions on sites to use?
Your best bet is to ask PAS which test provider they're using for this competition then just Google sample tests from them. You could also try the EPSO sample tests for practice.
That's funny because a new open EO comp was advertised today. Who knows what's happening 🤷♂️
Just got notified there, tests from 1pm Wednesday 10th July 2024 – 1pm Wednesday 17th July 2024.
just read information about the tests - verbal and numerical, scores in both count towards your OOM. Sova tests are very hard
No situational judgement which is always my best score :( Also noted the numerical assessment utilises adaptive assessment technology. Can't say I'm hopeful.
I’m not hopeful at all, I’ll still give it a go sure
if the numerical are all easy questions I’ll know I gave the wrong answers due to the adaptive assessment technology 😂
good luck furrybones
Thanks, best of luck to you too! I just did the practice numerical and they were grand. Hopefully it'll be more of the same in the real tests.
I just ran through the practice test they included in the mail .... what the absolute heck was with the logic test! I'm going to have to seriously study patterns, because those shapes and arrows made zero sense to me haha
You don't need to do the logic test , it's only verbal and numerical.
It would be great to know where the line is between accuracy/time when your overall score is calculated… at what point are you better off guessing and moving on to the next question rather than spending more time on it….
I see that we are allowed paper pen and calculator but these are not to be on the desk during room scan - so where are we supposed to keep them to be able to get them and put them on the desk when we need them? On the floor? Then we go out of sight to reach for them??
Argghhhh!! Head melting already!
