Thought I'd start a thread on this, I think people will be interested in posting up their favourite verses from the Bible etc. Bear in mind that this is a thread for Bible appreciation.

I really like the account of the Lord speaking to Samuel in the Old Testament.

The context of the scripture may change things, but still... taken out of context, is a nice thought as a universal wish anyway....

The repetition of "departed from thee" followed by the third line works really well poetically.

1 Peter 5:7 says, "Casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you"

It does not say "some" of your worries, but all of them. I am comforted to know that while we may feel alone (especially at Christmastime), that Christ not only cares but understands our feelings of disconnection; for did he not also cry out, in his moment of ultimate despair, "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me!" We aren't truly alone, no matter what circumstances appear to be.
