Can see Sacha coming in at HT or early in the second half. Hendrikse is not it
Yeah he’s a liability here.
Not shocked to hear the Saffer commentators at half time claiming Fassi shouldn’t have got a yellow 😒
How is that pass not called back?
About as obvious a forward pass as you’ll see.
Maybe that try with the blatant forward pass will cheer them up
Malherbe and Mbonambi on as substitutes.
Ludicrous.
Roos is a great athlete, but there's so little subtlety to his game. He runs straight and hard every single time.
Wouldn't be against giving PSDT a yellow for the sheer cynicism of that. South Africa have been playing the 9 all day and given away a few of those.
Ref having a shocker today. How was that not carded? Mental thought process
Welsh player already bent over, Bongi looks at him, lines him up, bends and smacks into him head first, no attempt to wrap. Bizarre that it wasn't at least a yellow.
Think Busby been ok, he communicates well, but that was a very soft call, imo.
Yeah got that one wrong but I think he's been mostly on the ball today
Love that for EVDM. He's done lots of nuts and bolts work today without getting much ball in space and then he does that. Have to be delighted for him.
EDIT: And MOTM now!
And again. He'd be very good value for a yellow card for it, tbh.
The definition of "attempt to catch" is very generous
Wales stuck to South Africa admirably, but simply lack the players to really trouble them for 80 minutes. They also looked very poor with ball in hand.
South Africa were ok. Very ill disciplined and looked clunky when trying to play through the backs. But it's a new system and they weren't full strength. They'll get better.
If South Africa can get some more accuracy with their new attacking systems, they could be a terrifying side to face. They caused a lot of trouble today for Wales.
Wales were brave, but I'll disciplined and clueless in possession. Dyer looking mystified at his YC my favourite moment. Dewi Lake led well.
SA managed to get minutes into a Stormer-free mixed squad. Edwill was simply outstanding.
Difficult outing for all the officials & thought (the Mbonambi flying headbutt aside) they did well.
The ABs have gone with a collar on their jersey
Will Jordan looks like an alter boy
I’m normally a fan of a collar on a jersey. But that’s awful..
Love the retro look, very NZ.
(Have always loved their national basketball team's nickname 'The Tall Blacks')
Like that, looks very tidy
Wru in financial mess to tune of 35m over next few years. Seems they got some sums badly wrong.
They've had multiple cuts to the regions in recent years (they're down to £4.5m for 24/25) and based on this analysis they think they need to slash another £2m per region per year further.
It seems very tough to imagine all of their regions surviving.
35 million? Bloody Eck that's some hole, you'd truly worry for Welsh rugby ... along with all the other things to worry over.
Premiership side Leicester Tigers have appointed former Leinster, Argentina and Australia boss Michael Cheika as their new head coach ahead of the 2024-25 season.
They needed to do something, they're going in the wrong direction on the table, a few years ago (under Bothwick) they were top, this year they ended in 8th spot
SRU announce 10.6 million £ loss for the season.
Club level Pro-rugby in the UK simply isn't profitable.
For whatever reason they just can't seem to find the right model to support the game.
Wales are wildly in debt , the English Club game is propped up exclusively by a handful of sugar-daddies and now Scotland are showing losses too.
So sky sports have all the rugby over the summer....
What presenters/pundits are they using these days?
I cant find any mention of it...
Long Gone are the days where they really pumped up Rugby Union....
I don’t think they’ve announced their on air line up. They’ve no regular rugby union team because they’ve no regular rugby other than Sanzaar and for that they take the Sky NZ, Stan, or Supersport coverage (or in Argentina, ESPN’s pictures with the commentary of the visiting team).
Edit they had games in June/July 2022 that they had studio coverage for, a bit of digging tells me the studio crew for NZ v Ireland was Alex Payne, ROG, and Sean Fitzpatrick with Conor McNamara, Alan Quinlan, and Isa Nacewa on the call.
