2020 M3P
Not the most efficient car and the headwind on the way down was brutal.
I’m picking up a 2022 M3 P next week and drive to Galway and back every week so am very glad to read your post! How much does it typically cost to charge for 10 or 20 minutes?
What colour combo is it ? I'd take it off you :)
You'll be buying a second hand car for the same price as a new car. Once you’re aware of that. You’ll be the second owner.
Just got a call from Tesla Cork to say they will have the new Performance available to drive from next Friday.
got the same during the week for Dublin.
They are certainly pushing sales atm, I think I have received 3 calls in the last week after driving the new LR.
BTW got a trade in estimate of €28,700 for my March2022 RWD White/Black. Not terrible I suppose..😊
I got a very acceptable “trade in” offer for the 2020 M3P too. But still. I’m not sure the new P is worth the outlay for the new reg.
What did they offer out of interest? I tried with my August 23 M3P a few months back and they offered me 34700. Definitely didn't entice me to upgrade.
I was offered 25K for a 2021 M3P. Don't think the new one is worth 40k more lol
I was offered 24k a few months back too. But recently, €28,400. They are bumping the trade prices, obviously to clear stock so no harm putting in a new request.
Mine has EAP, white interior, 49k km and full bumper to bumper warranty until march 2025 as it was a CPO car when I bought it, so you get an additional year warranty.
That's a decent trade in, what mileage?
Just under 36k. Was just the initial trade in estimate. Need to send pics etc to get final trade in offer. Will wait to see what happens next week before doing anything.
I went with this and the initial trade in was the same as the final trade in offer. Good luck with it if you do go for it.
Think the cost on the first stop was around €10.
Return journey was closer to €15. I'd stopped for a bit longer and the peak pricing had come in. (Between 4 and 8).
Not sure if this has been posted already. Website Recurrent has updated their study into DC fast charging and battery degredation of Teslas.
The good news is Tesla's batteries continue to stand up against degredation with frequent supercharging, to help counter a lot of the EV FUD that is out there in the interwebs.
As someone who fastcharges as much as 50% of the time in a typical working week, I am really encouraged by this result for my M3 SR+ which is now 3.5yo with 135K kms.
This is super interesting thanks for posting. How much degradation have you seen in your at that of mileage do you think? I don’t think (?) yours is the LFP battery?
What is your mileage? Mine almost 36k. How long ago was your offer?
I think trade in offers have firmed up a little lately, may be worth checking again soon.
I wouldnt be able to quantify in any meaningful way the extent of degradation as Ive not kept any kinds of records. I took delivery in Dec 2020. Its has the NMC battery as the first batch of the '21 refresh models were from Fremont.
Anectodotaly, on my regular cross country routes I've not noticed any significant reduction. But its hard guage also on these longer journeys as there is quite a seasonal difference between summer and winter in terms of range, especially when travelling at motorway speeds.
Thats brutal, what Km’s on it ?
yes and no, it’s nearly 30% more.
I’m guessing they have a calculator they’re using, rather than an arbitrary offer.
Mine is a 222 with 42k on odo and my offer was 28.6k
Grey, no other options. Offer was a week or so ago
It’s a game that’s holding back their market share here if they ever want to do anything about it.
Whatever one fits your budget and house set up. There’s no best one. They are all glorified outdoor sockets. The car won’t care where the power comes from.
Considerations :
Cost. Solar PV House load.
I prefer the Hypervolt for overall quality and available functionality. It's simple enough looking, not too flashy and has a good APP and great customer service.
The Zappi is another popular option with great customer service, even outside of warranty. Not my taste for styling though and has a lot of reports of failures (which could be amplified due to popularity).
Tesla charger is another option for a dumber charger which is easily daisy chained if you want a second charger later, which is usually only needed in certain circumstances.
Saw my first red Highland in Wexford the other day. Far nicer looking than the old model and the red really sets it off.
€41,832 for an inventory M3. Beautiful in red but in my case its hard to justify the extra €3k.
Anyone have feedback on the 2023.20.3 autopilot suspension update? I haven't downloaded it yet but wondering if any improvement on current iteration which I dislike as its too intrusive.
The car also has a permanent 1st strike out from previous owner and advising after 5th strike out autopilot will be permanently disengaged. Does anyone know if this update changes how the permanent strike outs are handled?
Haven't used autopilot much since update, but it appears to stay active longer without intervention.
It does try hard to get into a short right lane turn off at one specific spot near home, puts you in a potentially dangerous position if going at the 100kmh speed limit, also it requires more effort to turn the wheel to break the auto steer. To be honest, I don't like now using the autopilot unless on a motorway.
