More talk of a region merger. Feels like every week. Hard to see them being competitive this season which is a shame.
Player use in the URC. 4 clubs used >50 players
An efficiency award would surely go to Bulls
I didn't think the Dragons had 50 players.
Interesting that Benetton didn't use so many, despite having a team of internationals similar to Leinster and the Sharks.
RTE TV listings showing Euro 2024 match on RTE News instead of URC final. Strange as this would be a simulcast of RTE2.
Tell him, "Take no more"
Sanele Nohamba from the Lions named player of the season
I think it's notable that Leinster and the Sharks were in European finals - along with both having a lot of players at the RWC etc.
RTE 2 would hardly have the URC final instead? They are showing it either way so would expect it to be on News Now if not instead of 2 channels showing the same thing.
it’s an odd one, the sort of thing I expect of Premier Sports (the home of changeable scheduling), less so RTE.
Has there been any formal statement from RTE that the URC is definitely on the News Channel or is it just the sort of thing that someone might have said, it got repeated and then became gospel?
Bit odd alright. You'd expect RTE to be promoting it so that we should at least know what channel it's on a few days out.
RTE News Channel still listed as showing Euro 2024 match. Hurling on RTE1 while TG4 showing Tour de France until 5.00pm so surely URC final could be put on there.
URC Final now officially listed as being live on RTE News Channel. Wonder will it be geo locked for UK internet users?
Almost certainly. If it’s not it’ll be a mistake.
Interesting stats. Despite having no money the Welsh regions seem to have a lot of players!
Arentse is back for the Bulls. Devon Williams shifts to fullback in place of Le Roux
According to latest epg RTE News are simulcasting RTE2's Turkey vs Poland coverage. No mention of URC Final. Maybe RTE are keeping everyone guessing in hope that RTE News app is not used to watch match free in UK.
Is the app not geoblocked either way?
According to this its on the RTE News Now channel alright. Not sure why they haven't updated their own channel listings on their site though. https://www.rte.ie/sport/united-rugby-championship/2024/0621/1455916-winning-urc-final-would-be-icing-on-the-cake/
I live in N.Ireland obviously with a UK ISP and have not as yet had RTENews app content blocked. But there's always a first time.
Edit: App blocked for UK users.
The RTE Player can be used in the UK with regional restrictions applying - sport such as this will be one of the shows restricted.
Go Bulle
Picture quality is almost unwatchable on RTE News channel. How is anything broadcast in SD these days?
Bulls defence very good. Glasgow just going nowhere whatsoever for 15 phases.
Bulls absorbing everything so far. Would hate to see them win this.
Why
don’t even last to kick off on RTE
premier Sport it is.
Bulls have some power.
3rd final in a row in SA....
There's a vocal minority of south african fans online that makes me root against them. The bulls knocking out leinster twice stings.
Fair enough. Every fan base has fools
He never released that ball. No try.
Piardi not good enough
