I wonder how this will work out for him

What's the point? They'll let him out, he'll go to the school and back in prison the day after...
The point is that it would then be a second offence and not just a continuation which it is now and there would be a defined term of sentence which could be applied for persistent offending. We all know that he'll continue with his shenanigans but he'd be racking up offences.
He was let out for Christmas holidays in 2022 and abused the privilege and re-offended the very first day the school was re-opened, and every chance he could after that, until he was locked up again.
He has already shown he has no intention of NOT re-offending, by his actions in turning up at the school every day, and by repeatedly refusing the purge his contempt and abide by the high court order to stay away from the school.
He has been offered multiple opportunities to leave prison at this stage. It's in his hands. He knows exactly what he is doing, and it is entirely his choice to stay in prison.
I know all that but he'd be guilty of more than one offence if he continued to be persistent.
Are you guilty of an offence if its perjury like it is now?
No absolutely not. You are missing the point, such a person is challenging the very core of our democracy, something men and women have died to win that for us. There is only one other crime which challenges our democracy and that is treason a minimum tariff of 40 years.
His is civil contempt. It's not an offence that carries a defined sentence.
My point is that it should.
Yet he'll only have one offence, it that. If he's a repeat offender my way then he'd have loads of convictions.
He could leave in the morning if he wanted, all he has to do is purge his contempt and agree to stay away from the school. An indefinite stay in prison is of his own making.
There's no point releasing him, he'll just dust off his satchel and get daddy to drive him to the school.
Why should it?
He knew what he was getting into - he knows what he is doing.
Let him sit there and play martyr.
Mad stuff reading the comments on that latest Burke video: wall to wall insanity.
He can get out in the morning if he agrees to stop being a dick.
On top of all that, the person at the very centre of this, the individual whose pronouns Enoch refused to respect, was not even in one of his classes!
WHere can I see the jemima video?
One of the brothers promotes their hate filled paranoia on Facebook.
The Burke's are so off their rockers that on occasion they actually make fair points and highlight impropriety, said madness drowns it all out
Well it is not just about him, what do you do will all the other free men and women of the land??? Who believe the laws do not apply to them and unlike Enoch deliberately set out to scam the general people and manage to talk themselves into contempt of court situations.
Well I guess the whole pronouns/gender self id debate is for another thread, as this thread is about the consequences of his actions & why he's being kept in jail.
Exactly. Sorry, I misread.
How many incidents have there been of people "talking themselves into contempt of court" who've been jailed indefinitely?
Enough to warrant a change in how civil contempt is addressed? I don't think so.
Enoch Burke can walk out of prison tomorrow if he wants too.
*Edit: I found the answer to my own question!
Jemima earned herself a conviction in double-quick time.
On both counts, Ms Burke was charged with using or engaging in threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour with intent to provoke a breach of the peace or being reckless as to whether a breach of the peace might have been occasioned contrary to Section 6 of the Public Order Act. Following evidence of the arresting garda, Ms Burke was convicted and fined €350 on count two, with count one taken into consideration.
They are not convictions though, doesn't really matter of he is held indefinitely or sent back hundreds of times. It's civil not criminal and they are not criminal convictions, so don't count as previous.
So that's Daddy Sean, Simeon, Ammi, Jemima all with convictions for offences now.
I'm surprised Mammy Martina hasn't been arrested for something yet.
They are not offences though, doesn't matter if he stays in prison or goes to prison numerous times, it's civil. They are not offences and are not counted as previous convictions.
Bump..
This thread is now doing the annoying thing where you can't see the last comment posted.
Bump…
I wonder if mandated therapy sessions in prison would work. Enoch has been brainwashed. It might make sense to have one of those deprogramming guys have a chat with him.
The deprogramming guy would end up converted to Burkism, or in a padded cell.
Indeed - The Panel at the WRC said that Ammi actually had a reasonable case to bring forward in regards to her dismissal(At least it was worth a proper hearing not that she would have won)
But because she and her Mother couldn't stop ranting and roaring and accusing everyone of corruption and collusion they eventually just dismissed the whole thing and ruled against her.
That sounds a little Chinese, it's up to individuals to allow the Penny to drop
The vast majority of people recognise the jurisdiction of the courts [even if they don't understand all the theory behind it] and they pretty quick realise it when they sit in a prison cell for awhile knowing that the only way out is by accepting it. The difference is that the majority of people will have people in their bubble confirming this while the Burke bubble does the exact opposite.
But it is truly amazing who an entire family can go through higher education and not one of them has managed to figure it out…..
