In some good festival news, it looks like Forrest fest is heading for a complete sellout this year. Good for them, they've certainly found their niche that works for them. Nice to have some positive news when all we seem to be hearing about is cancellations and poor ticket sales.
Hour and a half in Malahide tonight. The trek to your car afterwards would put you off Malahide. It takes ages.
Lots of drunk teenagers at the gig, big fight at the side of the screen for a few minutes, security arrived a few minutes later. Should have been nipped in the bud earlier.
Olly Murs was better than Take That in my opinion.
1hr 30, played all their big hits, and 100% agree, Olly was actually impressive enough, great energy and his dancing makes Take that look pretty awful.
St Lundi was actually decent too and I met him in the crowd after seems like a decent enough guy, could seem him going really big over the next few years. He announced a gig in the workmans during the week too tickets only €15
Anyone else getting fairly chill about missing out on shows when they go on sale - at least in my experience - there's always resale on the week.
Manics, LG, Pumpkins for example.
If you check a few times a day you'll get a face value resale ticket.

Yeah, there's very few gigs I actively try to get tickets for on the on-sale date, I'll either try pre-sales or I'll grab one as and when.
Hasn't backfired on me yet.
A lot harder when it's a Dublin gig and you don't live in Dublin so have to organise accommodation, transport, time off work, babysitters etc.
Unless it’s Taylor Swift you’d be alright booking time off and whatever because tickets always come up and are quite easy to get the week of
Especially in June, way too many shows on, its complete saturation.

not really. Her last few albums have been kinda duds. One or two nights at Olympia suit her more now
I'd argue that her new album is a return to form. I agree though, Olympia is the right choice for now and suits her style.
Pfff - Daddy's Home wasn't great. Was being sold for €14 at one point as there were way too many copies produced. She's completely back on form.
And who doesn't want to see her back in the Olympia rather than in the 3 Arena?

Unless it's a huge artist in an intimate venue I've just completely stopped buying tickets when they go on sale. We got pearl jam tickets for 40 cuid each at the weekend last minute
Caught her at Pohoda and very impressed. However she’s very low-key so this NCH gig is far more suitable than a festival setting.
Anyone seen the covers crew REM by Stipe? In the Róísín on Fri and am tempted as have heard good things but a recommendation here counts for more.
Yeah, I know what you mean Seath but she played the Garden stage at EOTR, at night with the lights, packed but absolute hush, you could hear a pin drop. I refuse to believe there'll be a better setting for her anywhere.
