Jemima and Martina are new to me, how many children do mammy and daddy burke have?
Martina is Mammy. Sean is Daddy.
They have ten children in total, Ammi, Elijah, Enoch, Esther, Isaac, Jemima, Josiah, Keren, Kezia, and Simeon
Wow!
The last time I heard the name Jemima was on Play School.
Indeed
Q. What happened to Jemima Puddle-Duck?A. With the help of two fox hound puppies, Kep rescues Jemima and the "foxy-whiskered gentleman" is chased away and never seen again. However, the hungry fox-hounds eat Jemima's eggs. Jemima is escorted back to the farm in tears over her lost eggs, but, in time, lays more eggs and successfully hatches four ducklings.

I have a feeling that even the great Beatrix Potter couldn’t give this Jemima tale such a happy ending.
Three of the Burke daughters are named the same as Job's 3 daughters "given to him in later life" - Jemima, Kezia and Keren. (Job as in the Book of Job in the bible).
(Actually, you should give "Job's daughters" a google. 😶 )
Seems she was back at her acting the creep at inquests thing again. Truly scummy carry-on.
I just hope the people she was hassling outside were not the bereaved, but I doubt it
I automatically thought of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang!!
The inquest concerns a particularly sad case, both for the family of the deceased and for the hospital professionals involved*
It's utterly appalling that the Burkes feel entitled to attach themselves to the misfortune of others and appropriate cases like this to further their nasty narrow agendas. It's similar in so many ways to the playbook used by "the patriots" and their extremist ilk. The Burks profess to be Christians and vigorously crusade on that basis, never realising that their behaviour and treatment of others is about as far from professing Christian love as its gets. It's one thing for Ammi to engage in self destructive behaviour where she is really only doing harm to herself and her career, but some of their other antics impact on third parties in a manner that is totally unacceptable. Sooner or later their out of control behaviour is going to result in sad and serious consequences.
* the details of the case before the coroner's court are in the public domain however there is absolutely no need to discuss them here. I'd be guilty of the same behaviour as the Burkes by platforming the details and shining a torch the family's misfortune when they are incidental to the thread, the highlight of which remains the Burke's dysfunctional and outrageous behaviour.
When is he going to learn his lesson??!!!
Who, Enoch?
Probably when hell freezes over.
So he's in jail for the rest of his life and beyond. Oh boy
Unless the Rapture comes first!
Sound's like the "ethics" of the Phelps family at play.
When we elect our first trans Taoiseach.
It would be a powerful gesture for them to grant him his freedom. High road and all that
There have been more than a few paralells
These nutjobs have cost the taxpayer way too much.
It would be the worst reason in the world to grant him his freedom. If he was freed, every dickwad on a crusade can breach injuctions and refuse to obey court orders to their heart's content as a result. It's a simple matter of law, and Burke should be made to either respect it or suffer the consequences, just like the rest of us.
No it would not, because he would claim it as a victory and the circus would start all over again, only this time you'd have another bunch of chancers lined up to join him. People cannot choose which laws and which courts they will or will not abide by.
That would be seen as the political estate interfering with the judiciary estate and not allowed by law. Enoch's in prison for refusing to obey a court order from the judiciary, not a prison sentence which could be pardoned by whomever has the power.
He's deliberately put both himself and the judiciary on a hook which only an apology and a promise from him not to refuse to obey the courts can get them off. No judge is going to put the power of the bench at risk from some-one refusing to comply with it's orders and authority. It's noticeable that no other member of his family have [yet] taken the step he took in refusing to comply with the judge's order to stay away from the school or face the consequences. Ditto no judge has issued a similar order against any other member of the Burke family. A lesson seems to have been heeded by both sides.
Agreed. At this point it looks like hes happy to do life over this and the state has no option but to hold firm.
Well, no.
Because Burke is not in prison for anything to do with personal pronouns, or transgender issues - despite the Burkes, the media, and numerous posters trying to turn it into that.
He is in prison for his contempt of court for ignoring a high court injunction ordering him to stay away from Wilson's Hospital School after he abused his employer at a public event and was dismissed from his job for it.
He could grant himself freedom and be home for Saturday night takeaway with the clan. If he’s too moronic to not do it to himself then why should anyone else bother? I’ve said it before here I’m quite happy for my taxes to go toward his bed and board.
You could repeat that every hour of every day and the flat earth loony types will still not accept it despite it being absolute fact.
And on top of everything else, if he does not comply with the court order and is let out, he'll be back making a nuisance of himself once again outside the school making our courts look like a joke.
And if that means he sits in prison until he is 70 or so before being released on compassionate grounds, so be it. The idea that anyone can pick and choose which laws they will follow and which courts they will abide by is completely unacceptable.
Joking aside, politicians can't and shouldn't interfere with the courts.
Jemima could find herself in very serious trouble if the coroner wants to take legal action against her for her statement on the video released accusing him of covering up for the hospital in the death at the hospital. The coroner spoke to her in the video calling her the scum of the earth while she pursued him on foot through the town.
I agree but the sentence for failing to purge contempt should be defined ie 6 months. If he re-offends then another sentence could be applied. Having someone in prison indefinitely doesn't seem right to me as even people in prison for the vilest of crimes have a defined sentence.
