There used to be a small cafe just inside the main hospital, but it seems to be gone now. I know my husband was able to eat in the Staff restaurant when I was in hospital after having our baby. He said it was pretty good! Not sure what floor its located on as I wasn't in it.

It seems like the rose of Tralee festival company is in yet more bother. The father of the washington rose who died is taking legal action against them and demanding back some €80k he loaned the company and financial records for the company going back 10 years. Its not a good look for O'Gara et al.

I think we now know why the Rose Hotel wasn't the prime base last year, the air must have been blue over the debt. 😛
The atmosphere will be even worse this year if the whole Rose of Tralee background problems aren't resolved.
That phone shop 'Telefon' in the square closed down. I think it was a couple of weeks ago. I had forgotten until I passed it today. There looks to be something opening next to Benners hotel, not sure what it is, but it was recently renovated.
I think ive seen a few of them close in the last few weeks. No really loss to be fair.
Anybody with landline problems in Tralee? We are having trouble ringing cousins there but Eir say this number as well as others are in 'migration' whatever that means.
FWIW there's nothing where the old Roast House was. Might've been repainted on the outside is all. Thought it was supposed to have reopened by now.
They are definitely opening, its due to open in the next few weeks. May just be having some delays. They did say it would be sometime in June so still time
There's a new takeaway going into the old Agrakebara unit soon!
The guy who owns John Dough's is also opening a new shop next to his donut shop, selling confectionary by the looks of it!

It looks like the Oakhouse cafe in Oakpark has closed down already! Didn't last too long. Their Facebook page has disappeared too.
Not sure it was the right place for a cafe. I think maybe a take away would work there though?

Never visited but a couple of friends said there was nothing wrong with the food per se but didn't just seem to have the type of food that would make you go back on a regular basis. Businesses need repeat custom to survive...
Looks like the new Manor fast food joint got its permission. I suppose any objectors will be contacting ABP to get it scrapped.
I don't think Shadowmeadows Ltd, the applicant company, has yet owned up to which fast food bunch is going to operate there, although there was a mention of KFC on these very pages a long time ago.

In the good old days there used to be only one file with everything included, and now there's a load of individual files to go through to find out anything. I gave up looking for clues after a while, there are only so many hours in the day. 😛
