He’s been Minister for Transport, Climate and Comms for about 4 years exactly and achieved nothing. SFA. He’s been useless.

Go to the departments webpage, ‘Transport…….’ ……and pictures of lads on bicycles and ‘climate action’ , ‘climate adaptation ‘, e-bikes, e-mopeds, e-scooters..’, Fine, within the department brief….. BUT precious little regarding public transport improvements, infrastructure or anything…

My local bus route will be cancelled as part of the network restructuring in Dublin and I’ll have instead of a minute walk from my front door to a bus stop as now, a 10-12 minute walk to another one…. To catch a bus that seemingly will be going on a grand tour of the surrounding suburbs before turning south heading towards the city….

The recycling of the can (and bottle). It appears to work well, judging by the use my local Return machines get. Quite often a queue while a weeks worth of cans get fed into the machine.

Simple idea, well executed. A bottle or can recycled by the Return machine is worth more to the recycler than the same items put into the green bin, and much more than a can or bottle consigned to landfill. Of course a bottle or can discarded on the side of the road can be Return-ed by a local urchin for a few cents. In fact it all makes cents.

After some teething problems, it really does seem to be working well. I return a bag of cans and bottles when doing the weekly shopping. Adds about five minutes a week on to my time, but it is worth it for the environment.

And with an average of I think about 190 days in Dublin where rainfall is prevalent….sure we’ll enjoy here the 12 minute walk and the whatever wait for the bus that might be already full..considering it will be starting it’s route several kilometres away and originating and transiting through majorly populated areas before even arriving here… great job Eamonn and supporters 👏🏼🤪🤌🏻

In all seriousness, the new bus system will for the majority make it quicker into city centre, you should actually check the plan becuase posting "seemingly" suggests you don't really know

In terms of his achievements, the like of FiT, rewatering of bogs, 0% VAT on solar installation, retrofit scheme, update of the SEAI scheme are too name a few over the last 4 years.

I got 7.5k total for the last 2 EVs, which went to the OEM, and another 5k approx towards the solar. The cars cost me another 56k + 25k and another 30k+ on solar. The grants didnt make a difference as I was doing the purchase anyway. Those grants are a perfect example of what I called the wrong carrot. Grants to people who don't need it.

Regardless of all the talk about politics, life can't have been easy for the chap for the last few years. He's a figure of hate for a lot of the public, and couple that with the workload being a minister brings, and being a dad to an additional needs son on top of that.

Ryan oversaw a massive increase in rural public transportation, a consolidation of transport ticketing in Dublin, the 2€ 90m in fare which has opened up more properly connected public transport in Dublin and brought the Metro to ABP for a RO.

Whatever about what he does as minister, the manner in which he communicates with the electorate is completely arrogant, disrespectful and dismissive…..

His son is in his 20’s now and is autistic….he’s personally in a government where waiting lists for autism assessments are off the scale. So much so, the Irish society for Autism are advocating for people to get their children assessed privately for the condition…. All under the watchful gaze of a government he is a member of and yet, he’s a great advocate of population growth which further puts pressure on these services and the wellbeing of our citizens. 😏
