Yep, mentioned here ages ago.
Well, they started work on it now.
Lidl is expanding to take half of what Argos was, the remaining part will be a unit that will become a new pet store (a new brand in galway)
Deleted.
Maxi Zoo advertising for staff on their website for new Galway store so they must be the pet store moving in.
Given that the add's also mention a location of "Headford Road 40, Galway" which is the address of plaza, it would seem to confirm this assumption….
Robbie Gavin's Heating & Plumbing Supplies Westside is gone.
Former Caribou premises have a sign placed outside showing that the new owners are looking for staff. In particular, the owners are looking for bar and floor staff, a commis chef and a kitchen porter. Anyone who wants to apply can email their CV to info@caddel.ie
The Black Sheep in Capel St in Dublin could be a goldmine - if they called last orders/ flashed the lights to alert customers that they were closing the bar. And let you finish your drink and not throw you on to the street with your drink poured into a plastic cup 2 minutes later ... 🙃
If only it was in Galway!
A beloved store in Galway which closed late last year looks set for a new lease of life after a recent picture showed a sign placed out the front of the property.
Treasure Chest was the heart of William Street for 58 years before the owner, Mary Bennett decided to close and sell up.
Well, it looks like a new business will make its home on William Street in the not-too-distant future after a "Let Agreed" sign was pictured outside the building.
Welcome to boards, Galway Beo.

Aldi seeking to open
30 new stores with the creation of 1,000 new local jobs over the next five years. The stores will be located across the country in 13 counties, including Galway
Anyone know where the new store(s) in Galway area are planned?
Are there any towns left without one?
There is meant to be an ALDI store to be built on the Old Monivea road:
https://www.aldipresscentre.ie/business-news/aldi-gets-green-light-for-new-e9m-store-on-monivea-road-ballybrit/
ALDI stores in Co. Galway = 12 I think
Clifden
City = 3
Oranmore
Athenry
Loughrea
Gort
Portumna
Ballinasloe
Tuam
Mountbellew
So, maybe Spiddal, Moycullen, Oughterard or Headford? They're the only big enough towns left.
Well, the east of the City needs one, no ALDI between city centre and Oranmore. A previous poster mention planning for one on the Old Monivea road.
ClareGalway is bigger than Spiddal.
Afaik, one of those had planning permission for a site in Moycullen village for about a year now.
Tummy time now called Aryan Pizza. 😐
Not sure that though through the name

That'd be Lidl.
Ladbrokes Woodquay is closing or has closed. Good to see. Only 5 bookies left in the city centre now I make it.
It's not like Galway's biggest annual summer attraction isn't a massive betting festival or anything.
