There was a stat earlier that over the last 10 years, McIlroy is almost double the under par score of the next closest player for the last day of the majors.
He certainly looks different this week, it’s the fact that he has had 3 (so far 4) consistently good days rather than the great/terrible days which have been familiar.

it's the short putts on the back 9 i worry about. when the nerves hit and he knows he's in the mix. already, he's taking a long time for iron shots as mcginley says. come on rors!

That stat is because he always goes on a mad one Sunday when he knows he's out of it. This is the first time in a long time he's playing out of his skin when in contention.
