Bizarre looking and totally unpractical, probably won't see them on the road here, but God I'd love to drive it.
it can’t pass pedestrian safety regulations, so you’ll never see one in Europe, never mind Ireland. This is a non road legal showroom model.
Bizarrely the US has no pedestrian safety regulations
Tesla can’t sell them new in Europe but anyone else can import one regardless of pedestrian safety.
Best of luck to anyone trying to park it.
If I could keep this usage figure I'd be a very happy man.
Folks, anyone got a full M3 wrap and feedback on how it went, cost etc....
Would be interested in this too.
my last quote was about €1300-€1500 from wrap it design in Dublin about 2 years ago.

Are some that do it but I’d expect a higher cost nowadays.
I picked up my M3 RWD on Monday. Had expected the auto wipers to be crap based on what I'd read and seen on YouTube reviews. Had really changeable weather on a hour long drive today, sun/heavy rain/light showers. Auto wipers worked perfectly. Loving the car so far. Exceeding expectations.
Recent updates helped but also, never underestimate click bait videos on Tesla.
First NCT today. 2020 M3P from Fremont. 48k km on her now.
I done nothing in advance, not even check tire pressures. Car is driving perfect thankfully.
Failed. ❌
Tester couldn’t find Vin 😂
Showed VIN. Passed ✅
Where is it? Mine is due in August or September I think. Plus I lost the tax book when we moved house!!
Het a replacement log book. You’ll need it to get the NCT cert.
Picture below highlights the location of the vin. You don’t have to remove any trim. Just peel back the black rubber seal and you can actually see the vin. That’s enough.
Cheers Gumbo 👍
I showed the NCT guy my VIN when he jumped into the car…. Then during the test, he showed all the other NCT people where it was…
Ive noticed this mentioned on the forums a few times: why are they getting confused in the test centers of the tesla VINs location?
Tesla have it in the same location as others, like the Golf below:
Neither of those locations on any Tesla model are acceptable for the NCT. It must be indelibly marked on the chassis.
Glass and riveted on don't count I thought? Has to be stamped onto the frame.
They have to see it in the frame. Same as other cars. But on the model 3, they have to pry a piece of trim off. So for liability reasons (and rightly so) they won’t do it. If they break it they are life the repairs.
Same for VRT.
Is it the same on the Highland? I can see this being another stick to beat Tesla with in years to come as more non-early-adopters have to do the NCT.
there are a few different locations, depending on the car….
newer cars have it on the driver side floor, and theres a little flap of carpet that can be lifted to reveal the VIN on the chassis.
Yes, the flap also has VIN written on it so it's very obvious on cars from about 2020 or whenever they started building them in Shanghai.
BMW i3 the same. You have to move the seat fully forward, lift carpet and open a flap. It’s not ideal but not a deal breaker. It’s right there as you lift the rubber seal. Nothing has to be “removed” if you get me.
Loads of Japanese cars have it under the drivers floot mat too. It will just take time for NCT staff to figure out where it is. Doesn’t help that it keeps changing location.
That makes sense. Thanks 😀
After getting the email from Tesla with the "uplift for trade-in valuation for Tesla owners", I asked for one and got offered just about 30k for 2021 3LR wit 48k km. The car price was originally 62k with tow included. I don't think they've considered that in the price but also they didn't consider the trashed rims so lets call it even. I see the same car would cost 53k now so cost of change like for like 23k or if not a depreciation of 32k. That means something from 37% to 52% in 3 years. There is no stock anyway and I don't plan to get a new car but I think the numbers seem decent or at least in line with the industry.
Otherwise put a 2021 LR for 30k seems a pretty good value if I was to buy it.
My car is a March 2020 SR+ and I've had 5 valuations from them over the years… I paid around €48k for it.
So basically 18k in 4 years/93k km like for like, although 2024 RWD is a sizable upgrade vs 2020 SR+. Few k in larger battery, powered boot, better interior (?)
Jeez,some crazy variations there?
Yep… it's an infinitely better car now than what I have…. however I still couldn't justify upgrading to a newer version…
I'll try and list off the upgrades I can think of that arrived since I collected mine (and prior to Highland);
probably loads more that I forgot about too…
