I was out in Sandyford today, and they told me that the Model 3 price is going up soon. Had a spin in one and took some pictures of the Cybertruck. The place was packed with test drives, one girl turned up at the counter with a cheque to pay the balance on a car, and they told her to gtfo…

There's a Model X Plaid on display, it's stunning in the Red ,with the beige leather interior.

it’s 3 weeks to end of the quarter and Tesla chase end of quarter deliveries like no other manufacturer - of course they said the price will go up :)

Heck they might even be correct - prices tend to rise at the start of a quarter and drop again after a few weeks.

the white m3 is going to be Tesla’s entry level car for some years to come - sales will be a serious issue if they’re not charging about €38k for it.

Hi, following this thread for quite some time before finally putting my order in yesterday. When I look at the Tesla site this morning however, it does say the prices are likely to increase from the 1st of July due to import duties. Would they typically honor the price you signed up to?

Anyone from Cork being told to collect the Car in Dublin?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 60 ✭✭LightHugger

Apparently they will let someone else (designated by you) collect the car on your behalf. Assuming you've paid for it off course!

Collecting my car some day next week from Sandyford.

I'm planning my route to Cork and I would appreciate any advice as I'm a complete newbie re charging.

Will I make it to The Tesla supercharger near Portlaoise?

I've 20k free charging, will this work if I use the Ionity charger in Kill?

Will I need some type of account or can I pay by card?

Will 1 stop to charge do me to Cork?

Apologies for what might seem like silly questions but all new ground to me.

I'd imagine you won't be collecting in Sandyford but Baldonnell. You'd need probably 30% charge on collection to make it to the supercharger in Ballacolla. If it's lower you could do a 10 minute stop at the fast chargers in Kill.

Your free charging is only for Tesla Superchargers. If you have your account setup on the app then it will charge automatically when you plug into a Tesla Supercharger.

In my M3 RWD it's roughly 75% of the battery to go from Dublin to Cork assuming 120kmph on the motorway.

Normally when it’s Tesla that make the price changes. But additional taxes may not be covered under the traditional “price lock” that Tesla offer here.

I was onto Tesla chat and they said they would honor price you sign up to.

I leave in Cork and I just received an email from Tesla stating that I have to collect the car in Dublin. Anybody in the same boat?

The email says: “Unfortunately, the vessel shipping your car was late on its arrival into Ireland and as such, we will experience logistical delays for Cork deliveries. To help remedy this, we will facilitate your collection in our Dublin collection centre to allow for quicker deliver times.”

Can I refuse to collect in Dublin?

I don't know, but I hate disingenuous emails like that. They will "facilitate your collection". The lying bas***ds will in their hole facilitate you. They're only trying to facilitate their own end of Q2 delivery numbers. Play hardball for Cork, but they could go full wa**er and cancel your delivery. They're a bunch of

I know, right?! The whole email is infuriating. I’ve been waiting for this car since April but I refuse to travel 7 hours to collect it. At this point if they cancel the delivery I would request a refund.

Also if I accept the delivery in Dublin will the car have a Dublin car plate?

Car will be registered to your address. So unless you have them a Dublin address, it won’t have a Dublin reg.

It’s only a 2 hour drive from cork no?

The drive home will be good to get familiar with it.

I buy cars in London regularly and the London to holyhead trip back is great for learning about the car and finding out it’s niggles and quirks.

Corks a big county, you can be halfway to Dublin and still be in Cork!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10 dav_zen

I ordered in April and I've opted for Cork delivery too, I haven't gotten an email like that yet though.

I did get a delivery window from the 17th-25th June but now that's been pushed out to 2nd-17th July unfortunately. I was really hoping to pick up in June and get the free supercharging.

Do you have a pick up date yet?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5 ELC123_

It’s around 3 hours each way. I will have to get someone to drop me off there. I don’t think I want to do it, but thank you for your input. I was adamant I would do it, but now you’ve made me think about it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5 ELC123_

I don’t have a pickup date yet. My delivery window is June 17th-30th. I phoned them and was told that if I don’t accept the delivery in Dublin, I will lose the free supercharging offer.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10 dav_zen

Thanks, I better give them a call so. I'd be ok to change to Dublin and go for the spin to keep the supercharging.

It'd be a fun drive home!

Do the 20000kms expire after a number of months/years?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10 dav_zen

I haven't seen anything concrete but someone who picked up a car in the UK mentioned they were valid for 3 years.

Anyone pick up or waiting on a Model Y RWD from Berlin with a BYD battery the vin would have an E as it’s 7th character. I’m curious to know is that variant being built in RHD.
