I guess the show needs it's own thread. The plan is that Oliver Callen, Brendan Courtney and couple of other tba hosts will do it will into the winter. It very much looks like the vacancy is left open for Tubs to return.

I agree, I do think he's a good interviewer but I just wish he'd leave those attempts at impressions to his other show.
Enjoyed that interview with Arthur TBH. I think Callan is developing into a very good interviewer, well informed and his questions seem to open up the interviewee.
The 'impressions' this morning are even more painful than usual.

Incredible to think how quickly the boy Callan got into the ‘RTE Mode’ after he got the gig.
These lads and lasses should be offered a large dose of reality for the the stuff they do
but it seems RTE management haven’t got the balls to go through with it.

Callan is in todays Irish Times saying he should have been offered the 170k Tubs was offered and that he is only on 150K. I thought he was on 120k.
He is some chancer. No one should be earning more then 60-70 k for that spot. Especially when the 150K it dosn't include other work like Callans Kicks.
Maura is back today filling in for Oliver. I find her voice very grating. She’s hard to listen to on radio. She’s a good fit fir the afternoon show but IMHO she’s not a voice for radio.

Don't forget that the JNLRs are based on past 12 months, but issued every quarter. So most of that period covered is when Tubridy was around, or when the various guest hosts were in place (which admittedly included Callan). Not a good start though.

Assuming you mean Brendan O'Connor. There was a rumour on Boards, before the announcement of Oliver Callan getting rhe show, that BO'C would be taking over the slot and Sean O'Rourke would be taking over the weekend slot, but obviously this did not pan out
