Separate discussion for the EU election results.

Pilewatch ahead of the last count here at Nemo. Left is Ní Mhurchú and right is Wallace. My own (heavily caveated) read is that while Wallace will take a significant amount of Grace O'Sullivan's votes, there just isn't enough left for him to overhau Ní Mhurchú.
A consolation poll for Daly and Wallace:
2:1 break in favour of Ni Mhurchu if right. Not looking good for Moscow Mick.
CNMs on the left Boscos on the right….Ironically,
Scamphobia would be more accurate.
Agree with this completely. Anyone who even questions anything remotely linked to climate is screamed at they they're a climate change denier. This kind of thing in the article below which Eddie Punch and others had been highlighting, and their reward was to be branded climate change deniers when in fact they were right all along.

And the chances of a professional system using a specific consumer model of HP scanner are basically nil - even if that one is actually entirely capable of handling the longest ballots we've ever seen.
You'd go buy professional feed scanners which have length limits up in to notional levels - the limit at which a TIFF file runs out of pixels at a reasonable resolution which would be measured in tens of meters maybe.
Really, go find another problem with this suggestion rather than thinking that they're limited by what consumer scanners can do - there are plenty of other problems.
LOL.
Well I think it would depend on what your using it for really.
Yeah, my support for Ukraine definitely has me marked as a Putin and Trump fan.
..
Fantastic, Wallace given the boot at last!
Intertwined with prostitution hence the enormous issue with the latter. If a sex worker has been trafficked the man buying her services (not freely given) is committing rape.
I don't know, I think part of the allure (for CGTN or RT say) is fact they are (or were!) MEPs.
It's Western politicians in a reasonably important position, (supposedly) independently confirming all of the regime talking points and propaganda and making it smell good to people at home (edit: perhaps to others around the world as well…given it is English language content).
When they become nobodies, they are less useful. Being a TD vs an MEP may be a step down from that POV (regimes looking for suitable Westerners to be their parrots) as well.
You see similarities between a left-winger waving a Palestinian flag and a guy aligned with climate change deniers and casually racist anti-immigrants? Seriously?? If both elected they’d be sitting at entirely opposite ends of the European Parliament.
Good riddance to the unholy trinity of Daly, Boylan and Wallace. At least 2 of them will have €400k golden parachutes though.
"Oh Micky, what a pity you don't understand"
Good riddance to Wallace & Daly
daly out, wallace out, Mullooly in, if only Punch had made it too it would have been fantastic, will have to settle for good!
Mullooly not elected. Ming’s transfers could be a huge problem for him.
The Eurovision strikes back…
RuZZia today will offer Wallace & Daly relocation package, no doubts
Great that it was the final count…..
…..It's the hope that kills you.
Thank **** for that 👍 Wallace gone. That’s a good days work. Good riddance ya oul bollox .
Sorry MFPM……
Ooooo, I thought he was, more waiting then.
I know the vast majority of people don't care but what do the likes of Mick Wallace and Clare daly do to make money now? When they don't get re-elected how do they earn money?
He will be able to pay some of that VAT he owes Revenue then.
They'll be fine….
At the end of their term in office, MEPs are entitled to a transitional allowance, equivalent to one month’s salary per year they were in office for up to two years maximum. When a former MEP takes office elsewhere, the new salary offsets against the transitional allowance. If the MEP is simultaneously entitled to an old age or invalidity pension, they cannot receive both and must choose one or the other.

Mick - or members of his family holding them for them - has some remaining business interests - one or two quite decent restaurants (or they were, when I used them, before he went mad) and the vineyard at least. He is also old enough to claim both his Dáil and MEP pensions - and the state pension for that matter.
Clare hasn't got any of those, MEP pension kicks in at 63 but she's in her 50s.
The final count…The last time a final count made so happy was when the jury found Trump guilty on his 34th!
