Separate discussion for the EU election results.
Would there be much crossover there? Hard to get into the mindset of someone who’d vote for BOTH Tóibín and Flanagan.
On the face of it II just seem like a lot of middleaged, mostly angry barstool pundits who are more interested in making sex for rent legal. What have they got after that's sunk in?
ok, thought he was solely independent
He's a member of a political party full of climate change deniers and casual racists.
Lynn Boylan already elected in Dublin:
who’s his lot? He’s an independent
Mulooly will saunter home unfortunately, no fan of SF but give me them any day over Mullooly and his lot.
Anyone else think we need longer than just the two extra days before the rest of the EU votes for our voting day to vote in these European electiobs. All the rest of the EU have more or less decided who they were voting g for abd because of our voting system we are still only sorting the votes out. Its a disgrace. Either we vote like every other country does for the EU elections next time or we get more time next time because our system is so slow.
It's not the Aontu transfers that will win it for Mullooly - It'll be the FF transfers after. Those definitely ain't going to SF in large numbers
In Dublin Aontu transferred far more to Niall Boylan than SF and the same was repeated in the South with transfer to McNamara.
All in all, a poor election for United Russia. Probably why they don't do democracy at home.
How super is that supercomputer and what data is it working with? I reckon Mullooly will struggle to get that last seat. Unless he gets a lot of transfers from Aontu but I reckon many of those will go to Sinn Fein. Aren't Aontu just the Pro Life Provos?
We'll see what a general election throws up
Came in to see if Wallace's goose is cooked yet…. I leave satisfied.
(Moscow Bosco - that's a good one!)
My only question I have for Moscow Bosco is does he call Putin daddy when they're at it.
They thoroughly deserve their kicking.
The plastic bottle scheme, Roderic O'Gorman and his integration department, the endless carbon levies, etc. All stuff they've been pushing hardest that lowers our living standards and increases our cost of living.
The Dutch look at things as wrong but not their place to decide things.
Weird people in away, class driven and old school networks at levels Eton would blush at
Moscow Bosco as one person on Twitter called him.
Waterford already has a Green TD (who'll likely lose his seat at the next election)
So Gildernew (15) v Mullooly (85)
and
CNM (70) v Mick Wallace (30) Percentage chance of being elected in brackets (according to supecomputer)
Short lived hope for Wallace seems to be gone. Good
If one of the main parties focus on a green enough agenda/plan in the next government, there is no need for them.
I hope she sticks around for the GE, Bit of class about her.
If she was leader (probably no aspirations) the greens won't suffer like they are going to in the GE.
Grace O'Sullivan just released a statement upon the announcement of her exclusion.
I might not agree with her politics, but applaud her exiting with dignity……..unlike her former South MEP colleague who threw the toys out of the pram!
Sure Pippa reckons they've had a good result.
That's all you need to know about the Greens. At least the Shinners took it on the chin, well for about 48 hours anyway
3? Who's the third?
Imagine bringing it to the doorstep and telling parents that their kids will have more career options though.
I think the Dutch experience was more about facing up to legacy industries that were illegal but tolerated because they had the biggest concentration of stevedores in Europe.
Same with the smoke shops, they're really only in certain areas. The netherlands also has a biblebelt too.
SF could still easily end up with 3 MEPs - MNW now the next show in town. Mullooly vs Gildernew.
Peadar Toibin us ex-SF, and a border TD but Aontu votes have gone a lot to Independents elsewhere
Looks like many voters want the current govt but don't want the Green Party in it.
No Boylan, Daly or Wallace, this is a lovely election
