Heading to Killers on Wednesday night. Anyone know what time they’ll be on stage and what time it’s over at?
9pm and it will be over before 11. Standard times
Travis on at 7.50, killers at 9pm show will be finished up around 10.45 at the latest
Many thanks for that. Normally support act wouldn’t interest me but might get in early to see Travis
Are Dave and Mark on this tour?
I'm going to Killers mainly to see Travis. Travis are a great band.
I saw Travis in Newcastle a year or two ago. Was there for the weekend and by chance they happened to be playing at a venue practically next to my hotel. They put on a good show that night. Heading to the Killers on Friday but will definitely arrive early to catch Travis again.
Just Dave
Anyone there last night? How was it?
Great gig really enjoyed it. To my surprise Travis were very good too, really got the crowd going.
Very enjoyable gig. As I watched Travis in the warm up I enjoyed them but after the killers I have almost forgotten them!
The Killers played from 9-11 more or less. Great energy, sound, stage production, visuals.
Brandon Flowers somehow looks as young as he did 20 years ago, whatever he is up to. While being a great frontman his earnest sincerity is jarring for a cynical irishman like myself!
Seen the setlist online just there. Looks good did they open with read my mind? Mr Brightside as closer is a good call too
It was a great gig - missed the first 20\25 mins of Travis but got to hear the two songs of theirs that I like.
Killers were very good - great energy, sound was excellent. They really do have a lot of hits.
I noticed the bass player on stage and thought thats not the tall lad who I remember in the videos but then I saw he stood back from touring a few years ago.
Flowers is a great front man
That was so enjoyable. I only know the first two albums, and Human. That was about half the setlist. But most of the songs that I didn't know sounded really good anyway. I must get back into them again.
The last 45 minutes was really good. And the crowd got going then too. Great energy during Mr Brightside.
I have never seen them live before, so I'm glad I caught them this time.
I got free tickets and was in two minds to go as only know their old stuff (hot fuzz) but i really enjoyed it. The visuals and production value where excellent and its refreshing to see an established band actually enjoy their work rather than just going through the motions. The last 3 songs (one cover) finishing with the extended version of Brightside was the highlight and a fantastic way to close out the show. Caught the last 15-20 mins of Travis, they were decent but Killers wiped the floor with them.
Tim Burton may have been a special guest last night too. He is in town while they shoot Wednesday, a TV series based the on the character from the Addams family.
Yes great gig, a good 2 hours of entertainment and they've some great tunes over the years. Anyone in doubt about heading to see them, you should. Travis were a nice blast from the past.
Yes, that song contains the words "rebel diamonds" which is the name of new album and the words they open show with before the curtains open.
They close with two versions of Mr Brightside, first a techno version then the original. That makes the crowd go even crazier because you are thinking to yourself this is it and unfortunately we didn't get to hear original but then wham...
A few more pics from last night
Great gig last night, opening with Mr Brightside was amazing. Now hopefully they go away for 3 or 4 years. Really do think they're a band who should be playing Slane
Great gig last night , had not seen them before probably one of the few in Ireland that hadn't.
Blistering opening 30 mins or so , for me I felt it went very flat in the middle, mixture of songs I am unfamiliar with or don't particularly like.
Delighted I got to hear my own souls warning and quiet town.
Strong finish.
Travis were good, one quibble, maybe it's where I was standing but felt the bass drum drowned out the vocals during the early songs(sing and driftwood).
I was sitting in first level and thought the sounds for Travis was poor at times, as you describe, vocals being drowned out.
Did he direct a video for them?
A great show Saturday, Travis were very good despite Fran looking like Johnny Rotten
Brandon is ageless
The show had great pyro and graphics, lights etc.,
I enjoyed the Elvis and U2 covers and all their own hits especially Battle Born
First time playing Battle Born since 2013, its a criminally underrated album.
Good to see Miss Atomic Bomb and Here with Me getting played too.
Really enjoyed Saturday night, he's such a great frontman, I don't think that can be understated.
Knowing more of the early stuff better, would've loved more from Sam's Town but wasn't expecting it having seen recent setlists, yeah thought slightly flat for a few songs after the opener but pulled it back then
Don't think Slane would be good fit in future for them as lot of older fan base (like me!) wouldn't travel and face the hassle of getting home - Marlay in a couple of years would be my preference but I do live close to there
Fair few younger fans there too.
For Travis, yeah thought "Sing" sound wasn't great, improved after a few songs, they sounded great then, was a great support act to have
