More talk of a region merger. Feels like every week. Hard to see them being competitive this season which is a shame.
This.…… 100%
Tbf better off watching it on tg4 than listening to Hugh Cahill on rte
Libbok needs to wake the f up. Missed his first 2 kicks, 6 points left on the table, while trailing by 3 points.
Stormers look good here but their set piece is in all sorts of trouble. Libbok having one of those days too, it seems.
Glasgow unlucky there at the end - the Stormers player didn’t release but Jordan pinged for rolling. That could be very significant as they’d have gone on 9-0 up
…gone in…
It was a pretty egregious roll to be fair - was asking for trouble with that.
Looked to me like he was rolled by the Stormers player
Libbok is proper crap off the tee isn't he?
Glasgow won by 10 points and that's the amount of points he missed from the tee off of relatively makeable kicks.
Well they won by 17 in the end but yes he is. It's a massive, massive blot on his record.
Scoreline won't tell the full story from Scotstoun, though I think the better team did win.
You'd hope Stormers can come back stronger next season they have some serious ballers in that team.
All 4 home teams won. Just goes to show how important it is to make top 4.
Conflicted about who to cheer for now Stormers are out.
I think the semi finals will be very competitive....but i think we are looking at a Munster v Leinster final.
I will guess at a Munster vs Bulls final.
My money is on two home wins but they are both tight calls so I wouldn't back against Glasgow or Leinster either.
After watching the quarter finals, one could easily put an argument forward, for any one of the four remaining teams winning the competition.
Just the way it should be.
Oh no the Welsh wont like to hear that!
Semi finals - both Saturday
3pm Bulls v Leinster RTE (likely to be RTE One)
6pm Munster v Glasgow TG4.
No listing for Bulls vs Leinster as yet.
What do you mean? Fixtures are confirmed already.

It’s not on the Sky EPG yet - however I suspect that will be updated in the current days so that the Only Fools and Horses repeat and the film Kelly’s Heroes currently scheduled on RTE One will be replaced with the Bulls v Leinster game. RTE Two is showing football all day Saturday so it won’t be airing there.
Anyone hazard a guess of the final kick off in 2 weeks time?
No need to guess. It's to KO at 5pm. It already been confirmed by the URC that if Munster are in the final it will be played in Thomond Park.
If Leinster are top seed it will be played in Croke Park.
I haven't heard a venue if Bulls are top seed. Loftus isn't available that weekend.
I would hazard a guess at FNB Stadium in Soweto. Far as I can tell the next upcoming event there is Greenday in January 2025.
Cool thanks!
It'd be some atmosphere if they filled that!
Doubt they will be able to fill it. Almost 95 000 capacity. They struggled to fill that for international matches, although that was 10+ years ago it last hosted a proper rugby match.
And there wont be many fans from the other SA franchises making the journey all the way there for it either…to support the Bulls. Ugh.
How does such a big stadium go unused, is that normal there? The stadium would probably never repay the amount of money that went into building it then would it?
It gets used for other events, music or football, even political rallies and some pastor seemed to have filled it a couple times. But for the most part it goes unused. No tenant as such. It is in Soweto, not a place most would want to go or associate with having a pleasant time.
It was the same with the Stadium in Cape Town until a couple years ago. They had no tenant who regularly used it, after it was built/revamped for the 2010 world cup. So the City of Cape Town refused to issue fire clearance certificates to Newlands stadium, which WP rugby owned outright, thus forcing them to move to Cape Town Stadium where they have to rent. Newlands just left to rot now. They wanted to demolish and build residential units, but former Springbok players objected and applied for Newlands to be declared a heritage site, so that didnt work out for WP Rugby at all.
Not the exact same, but along the same lines; in KZN they built the Moses Mabhida Stadium brand new in 2007-2009 for the 2010 world cup. Literally across the road from the Sharks' home ground of Kings Park. They tried the same with the Sharks but it didnt work, they kept to Kings Park. Far as I can tell its not used much at all for any big events.
