That likely is the case. As it is essentially a refund, Lidl has received none of that deposit return money. Ask Lidl support as we would not know the 100% answer.
Yeah, I now give in the re-turn voucher for cash after paying for my shop because I missed out on my Lidl app scratchcard the first time I part paid for my shopping with it.
It counts when you pay it.
It doesn't count when you redeem it.
Makes sense.
Quakster sez doesn't count either way. You done did it before?
Yep. A couple of times.
Well in Dunnes the deposit doesn't count when reaching the level to trigger a voucher. I asked. And, I think that's more logical.
I meant if I buy €9 worth of products that come to €10.50 with deposits included, do I get the scratch card? If so then it's fair enough when it comes to spending the deposit. If I was denied the scratch card both sides of the transaction, that would not be fair. I have assumed you do get it when buying.
Didn't count when paying it when I tried more than once. Maybe they've fixed it in the meantime..?
Sounds like the best option. I am going to do this from now on 👍
scratch card - free micro popcorn, no alternative. Is this the new craic?
guaranteed there’ll be no micro popcorn in stock for the next week 🙄
This might seem like a real Skinflint, but does anyone bring their partners phone and split their weekly shopping in half at the till, to get 2 scratch cards? Ie weekly shop 90 Euro just roughly throw roughly half shopping through and scan phone 1 then remainder of weekly shop and scan partners phone? maybe more hassle then its worth, considering logistics, or even IF your partner will hand over their phone to you for the shopping run 🙀, never know what might be found lol
no need for the physical phone ; a screenshot/ clear picture of the partner's barcode will suffice, to scan at the till ; in worst case scenario - staff can manually enter the phone number associated with the other lidl plus account ;
Split your shoppings on the belt with a <next customer> divider , accounting for €10+ worth of products on each side of the divider.
No need to feel bad/guilty about it either: instead of going 2-3 times a week at the shop, you go once and split the purchase in smaller chunks on the belt ( and yes, by reducing the amount of times we drive to the shop, we reduce our carbon footprint and help keeping a cleaner planet for the next generations)
Oh my god I didnt realise the barcode printed would work, BRILL idea, ill actually print and laminate her code and put on key ring thanks again!
We did that even when there was no minimum spend.
All you need is a screenshot of it weekly with plus offers activated, send it to your WhatsApp. If you have it on your keyring, it won't update to weekly app offers.
I think they changed their qr code once since launch, and that was only a yes or no for printing receipts. Old qr codes still worked a good few months after that, so probably even work now.
The only time you'd have trouble is when they add or change a product on the qpons and that deactivates them.
I used to shop for my mom, used the same screenshot from the start. As long as the treats are activated on the account, it doesn't need a new screenshot.
In the Lidl Plus terms and conditions it sez that various things are excluded from the minimum €10 spend for a scratch card including: baby formula, lotto tickets, alcohol and deposits.
There are other exclusions but I can't remember them all off the top of my head.
The blanket alcohol is new. Previously it was only the Lidl Plus alcohol.
Another GOTCHA from Lidl.
Lidl plus is getting worse by the month.
First they got rid of the €1 and 50c scratchcards
then introduced the minimum €10 to get "new and improved" prizes
Then nothing new or improved about the prizes, worse in many cases like 20% off Red Hen.
Then parkrun went from something decent most weeks to a piece of fruit or fruit tubs that go off almost before you get them. Fizzy 🤢
Now no alcohol counts towards a card.
II'm a far less frequent lidl shopper now. I keep visits to the rare decent app offer or middle aisle "essential".
I know someone what got a 1 euro off scratchoff last week, i got x% off cereal. :(
Got two 1 euro off scratch cards this week, nice that they're back.
€1 off..thanks i can buy something healthy
Free Pastry for me. Hrm.
Alcohol still qualifying towards the scratcher for me.
In fairness, we got free stuff for ~3.5 years. Lidl have been excessively generous. I still have some free WYX bleach, kitchen cleaner spray, chocolate, honey, cough drops, scrubbers, washing up liquid, baking paper, cling film, raisins, anchovies, sardines, pasta sauce, litres of shampoo… *sigh*
Any thoughts on this?
Would I fit much in it? I'm veggie so I wouldn't need it for steak or chickens or stuff.
It's enough for one person meal and space at premium. reviews https://www.amazon.co.uk/Salter-EK2817H-Circulation-Adjustable-Temperature/dp/B0BJQF89J7/?th=1 I would buy a larger version to ensure even cooking and cook for more
Didn't the gubbermint make it illegal to reward people for buying alcohol? That's why you don't get Dunnes or Tesco point or scratch offs for buying it 🤷🏻
Anyway...
I found the T&C's list of exclusions for the scratch offs:
"Some products are excluded from qualifying for a Scratch & Win such as lottery, newspapers, medicines, gift cards, infant milk formula, mobile top-up, checkout bags, alcohol products and deposits paid on items included in the Deposit Return Scheme."
Tomorrow's Parkrun is PARKRUN457
A loose grapefruit or pineapple chunks... again 🙄
