Best of luck everyone! Candidate Information video is available here: https://vimeo.com/943622208/bbf6b13d05
that’s exactly what I’m doing, keep changing things
I'm trying to motivate myself to fill in the form - my brain is just not functioning right now.
Looking at Question 2 and the amount of characters allowed (1500), is the question just a list of jobs, roles and dates as per the example or do they want experience gained within each role?
I've only had 2 jobs in the service so only used up less than 100 characters going by the example given?
2500 characters no?
Actually yes
I didn’t list them, I went into a bit of detail for this answer
Judging by the amount of characters provided I would have thought this, yet that seems to be covered in the previous employment experience question, and they provide an example of the list.
Furthermore it lists the question as an eligibility question and no mention of listing achievements in previous roles within the service.
Not sure what to make of it.
Just rechecked and it is actually 1500 characters for question 2. Does anyone else have any insight to this question and how much information is required?
I took it as per the example just listing the Dept, role dates.
Same. Some people may have extensive movement depending on how long they are in the civil service and would need more words/characters.
Me too!
Question 3 and I'm running out of characters - how are you supposed to cover all aspects of the framework with so few characters. And looking at 4 and 5 the same.
Is the closing date end of tomorrow?
3pm tomorrow.
Submitted with zero expectations of even being called to do the first round of tests.
Good luck to everyone!
Got mine in. I'm assuming the dreaded psychometric tests are next 😕
how long till find out if application made it or not
Assuming the psychometric tests are next and you pass those, it appears PAS will use your application form for shortlisting at that stage. It's a new process this year so we can only speculate at this point.
Does anyone else have a feeling that because the application has changed and is somewhat harder than previous versions, it might mean that people applying could be graded slightly easier or have a better chance of passing? I feel like less people than usual are applying for this competition.
Hi just came across this post I see from your post that maybe other public service experience may be accepted I am currently in civil service less than 2 years but have spent a few years in HSE so I think I might just complete the application and see what happens
I do hope this is the case but the sceptic in me says otherwise and they'll be really tough on this one and then start running open HEO comps again from 2026.
Yeah it's probably just wishful thinking on my part. I really feel like not a lot of people are applying compared to previous years.
Why do you think less people are applying?
good luck everybody
Submitted my application just in the nick of time. Writers block got me really bad. Doing these applications always feels like an awful chore. Glad I've sent it off now. Good luck to y'all.
Does anyone know of any good practice tests for the numerical. Good luck to all!
Haven't even looked yet. I just googled free online ones for EO practice. I think we just have verbal and numerical this time.
Anyone here remember the awfulness of the E-Tray?! I’m so glad they’re no longer part of the assessments!
Truthfully I loved the e-tray :D
It was very similar to what I did in my job at the time so I found it like second nature to do.
I struggle much more with other aspects of the assessments. Would love if they brought it back lol
There are some here. It's hard to know what the numerical will be like until we get the test link from PAS

Thanks damit I really hate the numerical. More worried about that than shortlisting or intervew.
