Don't think the current manager is the problem ,the problems today seem to have been with us for quite a while .Going on our recent form we should have at least been competitive today and not down and out after about ten mins .
God no to Davy Fitz
No time for Shefflin and he has no time for Dublin. Galway can keep him.
Dublin missed out on Davy Fitz. Don't like the man but he'd have lit a fire where one needed to be lit.
That couldn’t have been much worse. In front of a big Dublin crowd. Dublin were very passive no aggression. Standing right off players. All the goals were poor and could/should have been prevented.
I was wondering will a Shefflin/Donoghue manager swap be on the cards?
An awful bait'n from the throw-in more or less. Disappointed but it was never gonna be any different.
Disappointing. I'd like to say the lads tried hard but too many of them were sauntering around the pitch when the game was a contest. That might be part of a plan to conserve energy and finish strongly but unfortunately the likes of Kilkenny are not going to give you time off for that when it matters.
I maintain that the largest gulf we have to bridge is in S&C though. Too many of our lads are physically not able to hold their own in one on one battles with serious teams. Your skills crumble when you can't match your opposite number physically. That's what happened today. Kilkenny even threw in a few deliberately nasty challenges at the beginning of the second half for good measure. In short they bullied us and they always do that when it matters.
we've seen this false dawn so many times. no one should be suprised.
Absolutely hammered ,game over after about ten mins we couldn't even do the basics and crumbled in no time .Must be so hard for the lads after all the effort before today ,we are miles away from any meaningful challenge for honours .
Getting a hiding from the cats. Disappointing to be honest, nothing going to hand for our lads at all.
All the talk all week of Dublin putting it up to Kilkenny, 13 points down and not even half time. Same old story.
23,900 since redevelopment of the Hyde.

Hyde Park is 18900 apparently.
As a matter of interest I looked up Wexford Park (because I knew that was revamped and was wondering what the new capacity is)- that is similar to Hyde Park it is 18000.
Well Hyde Park it is so here is to hopefully a great game.
Because a game of that size needs a large capacity venue
A game where the winner goes through and the loser also goes through?
No reason for this to be in Croker. It wouldn't be close to a sellout. Games should be put in stadia suitable for the expected attendance. Otherwise its devoid of atmosphere.
The Hyde it is. My source came good. Mayo have a good record in Hyde Park and this will be their 3rd championship match there this year.
Eh, excuse me? 😏
Because a game of that size needs a large capacity venue and also and I agree with him the Mayo team should get used to playing in Croker if they are to go far into the later stages.
Looks like Hyde Park, the right call, easy for both sets of supporters to get to and should be close to full.
Seems to be in the Hyde ,not sure the capacity but you're right avoiding any injuries will at the back of minds .Still want to win of course to go straight through and not give them any encouragement.
The main worry for both sides will be avoiding injuries. If someone gets any injury that keeps them out over a month that is basically season over. Dublin have done very well keeping everyone fit. And have even managed to nudge Jack McCaffery back to fitness. It is a fine line getting players "tuned in" or pushing them too hard.
It will be interesting to see what sort of crowd that Dublin/Mayo match draws as it is basically a "glamour" challenge match.
Doubt there is any need for the match to be played in one of the biggest grounds around a 25k one should be fine .I think if the match was in Limerick a lot wouldn't bother going unless it was a proper knock out game which it isn't.
You must have found the only Mayo man who has that opinion!
Why on earth should it be in Croker?
Agreed still lots of work to do but far too small. Was talking to a Mayo lad yesterday and even he said it should be in croker.
The 19k was pre the recent re-development works. It's back up to ~23k (could be 24k or slightly over, not been tested yet to see what Gardai/H&S sign off on), new seats look & feel great and a fantastic new surface on the pitch. Using shocking portaloos so still a bit of work to be done, but a huge step forward from them.
I'd have it well ahead of both MacHale Park and Pearse (not saying much) in Connacht at this point.
That would be a nice novelty. As other posters have said though Cavan/Tullamore are the usual options. I never even thought of Limerick to be honest. It would be great if it was there.
Why hold a Dublin v Mayo in a stadium that can’t even hold 19,000 mad.
Heard rumours yesterday the game will be in Hyde Park Roscommon
id say limerick is the best venue for everyone plus it holds 20000 more then both them venues
A win means you'd avoid Kerry in the QF (both topping groups) but you could still pull them in the Semi. Depending on other 2 teams that make a semi it could raise/lower the odds considerably, so a bit too early to throw any %'s on it. The only sides you'd be avoiding to a Final are Louth (Provincial Final repeat) and Mayo/Roscommon/Cavan (Group Stage repeats) that'd all be avoided whether it's pQF, QF or SF (which avoids all previous Championship pairings, so can add in Meath there if they somehow turned things around).
Will be Tullamore or Cavan.
