Go on tell us more.
Enlighten us eejits with your undoubted superior knowledge on our government and the government parties.
BTW can you disprove that there aren't aliens all around us?
This site has gone to shyte.
You go to Quote a post and sometimes it doesn't include the post.
Then you try delete the post and you can't.
No wonder so many here are fans of the government.
They both have an air of failure about them and only getting worse.
If only they could get these "modular homes" in replace of their defective home
Fyi
Inferiority complex? Didn't mean to trigger you.
Very naive. You claim to find it hilarious, but also concede that only some EU positions are nominated by the Irish government.
Phil Hogan nominated by Jean-Claude Juncker. Hogan currently a lobbyist playing PR guru.
Mairead McGuinness proposed by Ursula von der Leyen for current role, so even being nominated by government, down the line having an EU friendly CV certainly helps. Maybe that's why we allowed Von Der Leyen speak for us when she threw her support behind Israel?
Dara Murphy. A politician who neglected his elected position, while taking the salary.
It's plain to see that senior politicians are falling over themselves for a job in Brussels.
Just watch the boyos like Martin in the coming year.
Well they know how many people it'll affect. Five thousand odd referred to in the announcement so they must know who they are.
The question I'd be asking is why they are only acting on advice that the C&AG gave in 2022 a few weeks out from an election in 2024.
Eamon Gilmore got a very cushy number in EU after he ruined the Labour party to keep FG happy.
I think we will see one of Leo/Harris or Martin or even Ryan in an EU role in 2025.
Absolutely. If no scandal about Varadkar comes out in the near, he'll be over himself I imagine. Maybe someone can organise the lads a post ala Merrion Gate.
I don't know which is more farcical, a FG hopeful allegedly caught extorting money from a developer to not block building during a housing crisis, or the allegedly shocked FG party members.
I doubt if she is the only one either. I'd there are few councilors, TD's and others looking to get elected are looking over their shoulder to see if they could be next.
Wasn't there that FG councillor Hugh McElvaney in Monaghan caught out in a sting operation in 2018 where he was willing to take/organise bribes to help wind farm planning.
He also had remarkable lax attitude to telling planners the truth about his affairs.
And of course there was the Meath FG councillor Suzanne Jamal that falsely claimed on planning application that she was single parent living in rented accommodation so she could get planning for second home.
She claimed her marriage to her husband – her campaign manager – had broken up and that she was living in rental accommodation.
Must be something in the water in Meath East and Louth.
Or maybe just maybe it is the calibre of people FG attract.
Funny one can almost hear the tumbleweed as we wait for the ardent FG supporters to come out of hiding to talk about yet another dodgy FG councillor or council candidate.
fyi
Nearly 20 minutes.
Response times are slipping.
Must have words with …
Not forgetting Damien English and his less than honest planning application, Regina Doherty and her debts that magically disappeared and then there is Helen McEntee and her 40 tayto uncles making donations. FG is rotten to the core. Not a normal party.
Hugh McElvaney is still a councillor on Monaghan although he left Fine Gael.
This is why we get the quality we have. Fill their pockets until a board position, the Seanad or the big jackpot, Brussels.
And Troy trying to get policy changed to make himself more money from HAP.
The coalition of chaos cannot build a hospital. 7 years late from the replan, at least 7 times over budget. Nobody knows how much it will cost. Nobody at fault either.
https://www.rte.ie/news/ireland/2024/0529/1452026-childrens-hospital-delay/
Some TDs now fear this latest delay will mean that no child will be treated at the hospital until 2026.
However, the board will warn politicians tomorrow that ongoing delays are driving cost increases on the project.
The children's hospital being delayed and going 200m over budget is a further pisstake.
@AndrewJRenko let's be having the excuses. You have been a big defender of this nonsense over the years.
The taxpayer is being milked.
You'd have thought they'd be planning on being able to point to the finished article in the general election campaign. Unlikely now.
Doesn't bode well for the delivery of new hospital beds announced by Donnelly today.
That can is already up the road. They are failures just grifting what they can.
The FG apologists must be awaiting an email from party headquarters on how to respond.

2019…PWC report (more money for friendly consultants)
https://www.irishtimes.com/news/politics/simon-harris-questioned-in-dail-over-children-s-hospital-costs-1.3792920
The Government has commissioned consultants PwC to examine how the price of the hospital has grown to €1.7 billion.
Mr Harris pledged that the Government will “act swiftly” on the recommendations of the PwC report which has been commissioned to examine the increase in costs.

The Health Minister Simon Harris has said he will make sure no money is wasted in the delivery of the National Children's Hospital.
Yeah but…..
Eh Covid and ehhh the war in Ukraine**
** = Sarcasm
They've really just given up on the bread and butter issues (health, law & order, education, housing, the economy) that Irish people actually care about.
As a former Fine Gael person, I was willing to give Harris a chance. It's clear already he's certainly going to be no better than Varadkar. In fact, I think he'll actually end up being worse.
Too many architects involved, designing an arty farty design to make it look cool ,would have been finished in half the time and half the budget otherwise, I see a tribunal in the future about who signed off on it .
And I thought FF was the brown envelope money party, if this was a SF candidate it be everywhere, on all msm, print and tv, with FFG condemning from up high
Is there any point of a tribunal?
After all the previous tribunals the "lessons will be learned" and "reform needed" rhetoric was used but FFG blocked all of it. Nothing is ever done to improve the situation.
We are decades waiting for planning reform and a FG local candidate this week announced that she made 100k+ from planning corruption.
