Triumphs seem to be following me about..
recent sightings, apologies for the shaky Jaguar pic - I think this is an XK140 but stand to be corrected by those in the know.
nice looking 123 in south Dublin yesterday.
Looks good in black (imho)
you're uploading uncompressed TIFFs there, 12MB each!
I wasn't aware of that MB - I always crop the image to reduce the size.
They're only showing as 2MB on my side..
whoops, when the thread loaded, it loaded on a different post to yours - your posts are not the ones i was referring to!
Probabky the cleanest 123 Merc I have ever seen
Immaculate underneath and inside also.
Into Felix G
ormleys yard for crushing.
a sin...
Sorry state of affairs.
Surely worth saving.
Looks like an ex taxi.
I begged them to drive out of the yard again and I'd buy it.
Nothing doing , it had the remains of a sticker on the windscreen where some Council had demanded it moved.
Council then contacted the company to lift it, scrappy says it can't leave the yard.
Had a look inside, Vodafone contract for a chap with a Portuguese address in the door, and I'd well believe it was from there, due to condition.
On Polish plates at the moment.
Hows that for a clean interior!
Someone gonna come back Ireland after a few months back in Poland and wonder where his car is gone! Four brand new tyres on it too.
Such a shame that its being scrapped
It's a fairly screwed up system that willfully destroys something as good as that.
They could have put it up for auction by sealed bid and made a few bob.
It's not Polish. That's a Portuguese reg number. First registered March 1985 (yellow tag on the right). Also means the current owner has it at least 4 years. It's been imported between 1997 and 2020. From where, I don't know but could be an ex-taxi from Germany, it being a 200D.
I'd get the phone and address of the guy and give them a call, they may well be in Ireland, and let them know where the car is. If they can prove it is theirs they can get it back - subject to fees. If they don't want it, then offer to buy it back.
Body looks a bit rough, interior is good.
Lovely car, but a 200D….
THanks for the Reg number info!
They will be extremely lucky to get it back, once Cert of Destruction is issued it'll end in the crusher. Its perfect underneath, I have a 230ce myself and know how much better this is compared to my own!
Hard to know how you'd get a number for the owner....
You wrote this?.. Had a look inside, Vodafone contract for a chap with a Portuguese address in the door, and I'd well believe it was from there, due to condition.
Maybe give them a ring.
A car that has been wrongly removed and is in a crushers yard can be recovered, happened to a work colleague of mine who was having a long standing row with a neighbour.
Tried ringing, rang out. Sent text message, no response.
Gmail address on the Vodaphone contract, emailed but no response. ( didn't bounce back, however).
Might get a reply back yet, Fair play for trying anyway.
Guessing no updates then? Such a shame to see this, I couldn't do that job for a living, pulling apart and crushing a beauty like that!
The owner could be doing time….
NSU Ro80 on display in Italy, still looks great.
Fisherstown Tractor run on Sunday
That Bluebird is beautiful
In person you'd say it was fresh off the production line.
Lovely.
Was that the top of the range ?
From my memory from back in the day yes it was. The 2 litre was top dog.
831KZL … 1981? Really?
Union Lido 😎
Google led me to the owners, photographers living in Dun Laoire, abroad at the time. Car wouldn't start, couldn't get a mechanic to work on it, she said.
No parking, getting grief from the Council, so they told the Council to take it away.....
Told me they'd be delighted if I could save it.
Went to the scrapyard with this info, got a very hostile reaction, claimed that by talking to the owners I'd endangered their contract with SDCC.
Am now a persona-non-gratis there........
