    Hey folks,

Got the news that I made it through the first round for PhD funding for the IRC this year. Been doomscrolling forums looking for advice or experiences from others through the years to see how likely it is that I move on from here. Anyone else in the same boat? Feeling awful and can't bear the wait until end of April to find out anymore. Any chance they'll get in contact sooner? Don't know if my heart can take the wait.

In the same boat here, previous years typically find out near the end of the month. Seems like odds are >50% at this stage at least. Are you AHSS or STEM?

Just got word today that I made the reserve list - cue me googling like mad trying to find out what the chances are of getting off the wait list!

I am also on the reserve list of the postdoc Art and Humanities section with 91.5 points. I would be grateful for any comments and explanations about how frequent it is to get the fellowship from the reserve list.

In the same boat here - on the reserve list with 91.5 (postgrad STEM non-EU).

Placed on the reserve list with 0.5 less than the cutoff. What is the chance for success?

    Same

Got offer today for STEM postgrad: scored 92, cutoff 85.5. I imagine 0.5 below cutoff is good odds even for non-EU.

Hi @doomscroller just wondering could you tell us what date you have to accept the offer, just so I have a date in my mind and can ignore the 'check every email' feeling I have on the reserve list at the moment!

By the way, did the email that provided our score mention whether the reserve list was from category 1 or category 2? This question applies to both PG and PDF.

i think there is no such distinction between category 1 and 2 among postdoctoral fellowship applicants.

Thank you @ilturco and @MissBosca for clarifying. BTW the date you asked is most probably May 23 @MissBosca

    Thanks @Charioteer!

Anyone else come off the reserve list? Could you provide what the approximate score was? I'm 90.5 and I'm not sure if there's any opportunity to come out of the reserve list.

Hey everyone! Just checking in, also lurking around with a 91.5. Any news or updates?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5 ilturco

I was on the reserve list of the Art and Humanities section with 91.5 and got a conditional offer letter two weeks ago. They notified that I have three weeks to accept the offer and finalize some administrative staffs.

Hello all! I'm on the reserve list in AHSS with a 90.5… anyone in a similar boat? I've been looking through previous years' threads and trying to get a sense of what the odds are of getting funding at this point. (edit: this is for postdoc!)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2 Wat2do4u

Has anyone here moved from 'Conditional Award' to fully awarded? postdocs or PGs?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1 IRCWait

Hi lorekeeper, in the exactly the same boat - 90.5 for AHSS postdoc and still on reserve without a peep from the IRC. I've been trying to get a sense if there's a possibility to move from the reserve but can't really find any information from previous years.

Really wild timing on this reply, because I woke up this morning to an email from the IRC informing me that my project has been funded! My status on the system has not changed from 'Reserve' to 'Conditional Award' yet though. I have until 2 August to confirm.
