Following on from main thread in Current Affairs about Tubs in general (now closed and mod suggestion that Entertainment category is more suitable).
Indeed, entertainment in certain respects is what Tubs has provided, albeit perhaps in a way not intended. And still awaiting 150k payback to the licence fee holder.
And of course, his new career in Virgin Radio which is imminent.

The DJ 3000 from The Simpsons would do a better job than Tubs.
..
The taxi stuff reminds me of Ryan using a taxi (on RTE account) to bring him to Dundalk and back for a private engagement. That simple slip should've been asked harder by the accounts committee.
So I listened in for 10 minutes last week. He burst in after the ads with short, confusing and bizarre non sequitars. He locked onto a new documentary about Camden Town. The doc examines the richness that that small area gave to British music. Tubs tugged the carpet out from the doc to say he lives close to there. Goes to the Irish centre to buy Clonakilty sausages and pudding.
Then he "crashed" the end of a song which was "One of my kind" by inxs. Tubs "stepped" on the end line- One Of My Kind. To which he said…"oops, I knew I'd Crash that song".
Nearly 6 months into Senior Hurling and he's still crying like a 12 year old sent to the Gaeltacht.
Wait, what is this about an RTE taxi to Dundalk?
Think it was covered in one of the Oireachtas appearances.
"A spokesperson for RTÉ told Prime Time the cost of the set build was 'accidentally omitted from the figure quoted in the nine-page RTÉ statement'.
The entries in the account also show RTÉ paid for an employee of Mr Tubridy’s agent to be chauffeured to one of the events at a cost of €874.
A further €890 was deducted from the barter account for hotel accommodation for three people, one of whom was listed as a person who ‘received no payment.’
This is understood to be a reference to an RTÉ employee who worked on the events."

is this the right thread for birthday wishes for Ryan today? 😂
Does Tubs think that gushing about his weekend in Clifden, the Sky Road, etc is really going to resonate with his (dwindling) UK audience.?
Does he never do weekends in England, other than that escapade to Cornwall, eg a day trip or overnight to Cambridge, or other such lovely places within easy each of London that he could talk about to the English audience and suggest as a place worth visiting to his Irish audience?
And how in the name of heaven has the Book Man not visited Scotland’s National Book Town?
not much scope for freebies when nobody knows who the hell he is in the U.K.
At this time should be at the very least arriving at the studio to prep for show.
Surely the scope for freebies over here has evaporated at this stage? His cousins own a hotel in Clifden so no doubt he stays there gratis
that’s about the least interesting picture you could post from Regents Park. Really rushed random picture.
Surely a Bookman like Tubs will have been at least once to the Hay Festival, which is on at the moment. William Sieghart with was there with Lisa Dwan, Indira Varma and Dominic West on Sunday - "The Poetry Pharmacy". He could have pointed at them all.
There might even have been a free all you can eat finger food buffet
And sometimes there are problems listening to this audio also.
That would be why his "London Diary" has been devoted more than once to talking about that hotel. Always an angle with 150kTubs.
It's a challenge, I'm sure to appeal to two different audiences, a challenge that good broadcasters have managed. Not going to happen, in this case. Can't think why… 😉
Is he just adding the word 'life' to the end of place names he posts pictures of on his social media??
I've only seen whats been posted here, but the word 'life' sounds familiar in his posts…
Can I try?
He's probably trying to connect with his UK audience using a Blur ("Park Life" was released in 1994) reference. Or it could have been accidental.
It looks like a picture taken by someone who's been sat on a bench there for the last 3 hours, contemplating decisions that were made, wondering why it all went wrong.. then the ducks arrived, and gave him the lift he needed to crack on with another pulsating 3 hours of mediocracy.
Those ducks probably just saved Bryan Tubridy from himself.
Did that person work on that event as part of their work in RTÉ… didn't get paid my arse.
Beetlebum?
a la Tony Soprano?
Not sure.
"City dweller, successful fella Thought to himself "Oops, I've got a lot of money (I got money) Caught in a rat race, terminally I'm a professional cynic but my heart's not in it I'm paying the price of living life at the limit Caught up in the century's anxiety
Yes, it preys on him (it preys on him) He's getting thin (getting thin) Try the simple life....
Livs in a house, very small house in the city....."
I'll leave the reading balzac/knocking back prozac out...
Not sure if it was mentioned, but today's podcast guest is … Brian Cox! So far it's under 100 views on Youtube but a more impressive guest than the last few I think.
Ducks in a hoodie?
I would thank you twice for that one if I could 😊
