I don't agree exactly, our maul made ground everytime, but we lost cohesion after the initial shove. I think we ought to look to replace McBryde, set piece hasn't been the sum of its parts for awhile.
At the most important times..... Leinster fail.
Broke.
Stop quoting the obvious troll. It means he appears even when I have him on ignore!
I wish World Rugby would clamp down on the ruck. Players not supporting their weight, second man in going for the ball, players coming around the side, players lying over everyone and trying to put hands on the ball well after a ruck is formed, no clear release after a tackle. The whole thing is a mess. It's just way too subjective and almost any ruck could be a penalty if the ref felt like giving one.
I know it's nothing new, but it's really making the game unenjoyable for me lately.
can't argue with you there, but hey, always next year
Lowe's corner try was correctly ruled out, unfortunately. McCarthy knocked on at the ruck - I saw it in real time.
I thought the ball was out when Willis took it.
Also the ref made the correct decision on the VdF try and the red card.
But I do think the rip and the McCarthy disallowed "try" was the incorrect decision.
Leinster played all the rugby but Toulouse played the match and were deserved winners.
Don't Usually don't go this.
Each of the last two years we have been beaten by the better team, plus put own stupid mistakes.
But this year, we were beaten by the referees options. Straight out, straight up. Lowe's try being disallowed was genuinely wrong. The Jamie call on the sheahan break was wrong, he gave toulouse a free pass for the same infringment about 1 minute later on the opposite side.
**** him, Carley was terrible. Can't be bothered
Bullshìt....Leinster were 3points down - had a man advantage with 10minutes to go....
Ye have no one to blame but yourselves for not being able to capitalise on that...
Bottlers....
Mod: Warned.
I think Leinster were too focused on beating Toulouse up front, as exemplified by them constantly kicking to the corner. They were never going to beat up that Toulouse pack, it was a misguided strategy. There didn't seem to be any backs strike moves prepared for off set pieces, happy to leave everything with the forwards. They flogged that horse for too long.
Which season was it when Leinster had multiple different tap penalty plays? There was a Leinster penalty at one stage about 12m from the Toulouse line. I was thinking they should tap it instead of kicking to the corner as it was clear that the Toulouse maul D had their number. Tapping penalties close to the line seems to me to be an area where you can attack on your terms without the risks associated with line outs or scrums.
Cullen looks like a blusted flush, should be stuck in an office somewhere and kept away from the team.
McCarthy knocked on at the ruck. Disallowing the lowe try was the correct decision, unfortunately.
The foot rolled the ball, a "good" ref would have let the play out
Starting to get serious, Mayo vibes from them
Whatever about any kind of bias from the officials but there were two things Carley was staring directly at and didn't act on.
The first was VDF being picked up in a headlock, he definitely saw it because he told them to put him down twice, which they ignored.
The second was the red card shoulder, he stared directly at it and actually gave the penalty to Toulouse until TMO intervened, he also missed a knock on just before that.
The man is objectively not up to the task of reffing at a high level.
it wasn’t a headlock. Toulouse player had his arm under VDFs armpit.
Carley was telling Toulouse to bring him down safely. Which they did. Out of play.
Right arm clearly around his neck in a headlock 🙄
Toulouse could hurt Leinster a bit more than the reverse, ultimately they were close to three well constructed tries. I thought Leinster were more threatening when Frawley was on.
The ref was poor but that wasn't the winning or losing of the game. Doris giving such a stupid penalty away was criminal in such a tight game.
There could be a bit of that. My wife isn't a sports fan but when I said this was the 3rd European final in a row they'd lost, straight away she was saying 'Are they the Mayo of rugby?'
VDF was immense when he came on and should have been on from the start. A big step up from Connors I think
Unless Mayo won the All Ireland in 2018 they aren't really compatible.
Ref decision against Osborne from the sheahan break wasc disgraceful n the light of pretty much every ruck that occurred after that.
It stopped a definite try.

Calling for the coach to be sacked is ridiculous. The coach who got the team to the final of the top club rugby competition in the world, 3 times in a row. By that logic surely every other team who have taken part in the champions cup the last 3 years have to sack their coaches too, right? Except for La Rochelle and Toulouse, their coaches are safe.
I know the team and fans are hurting after getting so close yet again, but keep some perspective.
Well done to Toulouse. Delighted to see the almost annual Leinster bottle job. The URC doesn't help Leinster realistically only playing a handful of meaningful games a year and consistently coming up short. Will be interested to see how the media analyse the apparent greatest club side in the world lose yet another final. 4 lost finals in a row. O
That is not a correct equivalence, the difference is "has the team improved objectively over the period in which he has been in control and will it continue to improve" I would say it's doubtful. He has had enough time.
I would even take a step backwards for two steps forward. But his vision is clearly not capable of achieving his ultimate goal.
The decision to rule out Lowes try for a knock-on that wasn't, was criminal. Even the journos are questioning Carleys decision.
Oh well. If the people responsible for creating headlines and clicks are questioning it then that's enough for me. Carley should be sacked.
