Think the thread has been slightly derailed with this Man City = Dublin rubbish.
Can't we go back to giving out about Murph and speculating about Mark Horgans whereabouts 😜
”0 rules broke”
“I’m not so sure”
“Speculation with no proof”
“What speculation?”
What rules was broken? None. Dubs got a lot of investment, nobody has denied that. What rule did we break?
I don’t think I ever stated that. I said Dublin had 0 charges against them and broke 0 rules.
I’m not embarrassed by winning the AI. What’s a bizarre take. Why would any Dublin fan be embarrassed???
I think Dublins achievements are not up there with Kerry. They’re far beyond it. Nobody else has won 5 in a row. Jim Gavins team were incredible.
Do I think Limerick should be embarrassed by their success with their funding? No. They’re an incredible team.
Wilson doing historical stories like the Nazis in football voice clip but in depth would actually be pretty cool. He’s so earnest that he’s endearing in way Fanning or Miguel aren’t. But Miguel is the prophet of wrongness so he’s ok in my book.
Dipped into Jonathan Wilson's new podcast.
Pretty good I have to say although his co-presenter isn't great.
Ah yeah, let Dublin make ribbons out of the sport at IC level because.. hang on, there’s no reason to allow it to continue unless you’re from Dublin.
What speculation? Loads of government money did get diverted to Dublin.
wow didn’t think there was still dub fans around in 2024 that don’t have the self awareness to be embarrassed about winning the AI so much in last decade with so many blatantly unfair advantages but there you go, there’s nowt as queer as folk as they say
Do they honestly think their “ achievement “ is up there with any of Kerry’s runs- everyone has to pretend in the media but most know the real score
I thought with Limerick winning all those all Irelands in the hurling, it would take take the heat of Dublin but I suppose winning another Sam last year has started all the s**te talk again.
Let's also start an investigation onto all those Kerry all Ireland wins in the 80s and 00s.
They're right cute hours down there.
FFS!!!
so just pure speculation with zero proof? So in no way comparable to city
I'm not so sure. How did so much government money get diverted to one county? Bertie Ahern involved, John Bailey involved. There has to be huge suspicion there.
Yep, Dublin financial monopoly on the sport could be dealt with by the organising body relatively easily whereas Man City have a mall cop keeping them in check.
Between Man City and Dublin? Its a ridiculous comparison.
The comparison doesn’t really work
0 rules broken.
Hurlers have really lit it up over the past decade, oh wait….they benefit from the same funding.
Few things more bitter than a non Dublin Liverpool supporter cribbing about unproven charges and Dublin advantages. Looks like spending world-record amounts on players wasn't enough to win more than the one league and they are scratching around for someone to blame aside from Klopp
Well there should be in fairness.
I see 0 charges against the Dubs in football.
yup it’s all made more farcical by likes of sky just not mentioning it and having Micah and the bantz crew pretending it’s all normal. It’s not
Mind you you see the same with the dubs in the football
Don't forget that the two other clubs who faced far, far fewer charges were both hit with points deductions. (Again, the team with 115 charges won the league by two points.)
When you look at it without the emotion of loving the game, it's actually a shambles of a sporting competition.
Arsenal ran them somewhat close at least. Nothing is really going to change until the 115 charges are dealt with or Pep hits the road. I can see the latter happening quicker, considering the appeal City will lodge if they're found any way guilty & the years that would take to be decided on. Robots winning the league on autopilot has gotten very dull all the same.
Can't see Liverpool, Chelsea or Utd getting anywhere near them next season with new managers bedding in & I've slight worries that Arsenal be a bit bollocksed after the efforts of the last 2 seasons. Villa will be stretched with the CL, much like Newcastle were this season.
It went to the final day but when Arsenal lost to Villa it felt like the race was over. At no real stage (apart from Son's miss) did it feel like City were in any danger of dropping points. Disappointing that no one in the run in could put up a decent fight against them
The club with 115 charges against them won the league for the fourth year in a row. The 3 promoted clubs, got relegated and it wasn't particularly close. The gap between 17th and 18th was 6 points but Forest had a 4 point deduction so on performance, the difference was 10 points.
That's all depressing enough, in my opinion. Its been about on par with previous seasons in my opinion. Villa getting 4th was great to watch.
The league went to the last day of the season, a decent race for 4th and the addition of points deductions. Not a vintage year, but hardly depressing.
Ken reading through the Uefa guide to Dublin was funny.
Boxty and Colcannon are more west of Ireland foods, surely they'd have recommend spice bags or coddle instead.
Kenny joined at a good time. Bit of friction there too makes it interesting. Murph being at that game worked out well
If Waterford don't have some type of disciplinary action it makes a complete mockery of respect the ref. Don't think it helps that Jamie and Malachy were just brushing it off
Virgin are so cheap they couldn’t bother to bring the studio crew to the match the one time the European game they’re covering is in Dublin
While I don't have much actual interest in the league of Ireland I do like the increased coverage in it as its a bit of fun and I know the personalities involved. Helps too that Ken and Murph are going to some of the games. Beats rugby and gaelic football coverage anyway :)
Because Leinster have repeatedly beaten Toulouse but lost to La Rochelle in recent years?
