I think the regs have been tightened up since the last spate in 2020. Haven’t heard of it in a while. I’d imagine a lot that were done and are still on the road were replaced with a spurious unit which isn’t worth stealing. That’s what I did with mine anyway.
It’s 4 x 25km if that makes any difference, half of each at 80km/h, the other half in town traffic (lights, 20km/h etc)
You should see if a replacement second hand decoded ECU could be a possibility. Could always ask on the autostadt FB page for recommendations on good/experienced auto electricians near ya.
If your a6 was perfect mechanically apart from this issue it'd definitely be worth looking into because it's the ideal machine for your needs and replacing it won't be easy or cheap.
100%. Most likely it isn't the ECU at all, it's a cop out used by most mechanics when they couldn't be arsed doing proper diagnostics (unless you actually fried the ECU in which case I stand corrected)
A good auto electrician should be able to sort it
Hi lads,my daughter is looking to sell her automatic micra 07 with just over 100k kilometres on the clock, the red paint is fading on it and it has one fairly small dent.
What do ye think it's worth.
Appreciate any feedback thanks.
Around €2.5k with a long NCT and decent mileage
Get the paint polished. It will be the one thing that will give a big return when selling a red car.
Or get the paint roller out like our dear friend Endfloat
New nct on Thursday all going well.
Any idea how much that costs, roughly.
You could easily DIY it. Use this stuff and it will be shining like new.
Its hard work done manually
It was driving in limp mode for several weeks, what actually killed it was the alternator seems to have gone. So it's the alternator + ECU. Mechanically the engine is very clean and in good order. But if I have to get a new alternator just to see if it's possible to replace the ECU…
Down to €1699 now, surprised it's not sold with today's car prices 🤔
Because they're a ball of shite, people may be desperate but not that desperate.
Maybe, see quite a few of them on the road still though, so can't be that bad 🤔
I was looking for a bangernomics, disposable car to run for a year.
Essential criteria was large load carrying ability with seats down, tow bar for bike carrier
Bonus points for 7 seats.
I wanted to buy this, thought it was perfect. Hoped to get it for €1500.
Wife was having none of it, ended up spending 5.5k on something else with no tow bar and 5 seats.
Urgh.
Sensible wife😉.
Hi lads.
I'll be selling an 07 Honda Accord shortly and wondering what it's worth?
Asking prices online seem all over the place.
It's about 200,000 km, 2.0 Petrol, Executive Spec with cream leather and some added extras like reversing camera and integrated bluetooth phone and audio.
Any feedback appreciated, cheers.
17 years old, but tax would be the sticking point. Maybe 1500?
Sold with full NCT?
Yes, valid into 2025. Sorry, should have said
Can you put a picture up here please
Sorry, I'm away on holidays.
No bother, I like the accords - maybe a picture when your back 👍
For sale thread here. Good luck with the sale!
I'm a big Citroen/Peugeot fan but these are one of the worst cars to ever come out
of France. The 1.6HDi did not work well in the C4 Picasso at all. A complete money pit.
A truly shocking car.
i would, no mention of tax rates which is not a good sign
