It is made by BYD aka Build Your Dreams. Hope it comes here and that they change the name before it does,
This could really challenge the Tesla Model 3.
It looks great inside and out
Don’t use it myself but I’m assuming this is not the reason ?
No mine is turned up to full and have done a system reset, made no difference
taking the plunge with 2403. 🙄
Dyna 4.54.33 on mine AWD with nav audio.
The no nav audio is common from Reddit and other forum posts. Haven't found a fix yet though
looks like a nice few extra bits in 2403. Very happy so far. Gesture control for A/C temp and fan speed. 3 finger horizontal and vertical swipes on the screen bring up adjustments
Front emergency braking stays off when selected. I can use roundabouts properly again
TSR is now perfect. Displays flashing symbol no sound can now be left on all the time
Alternative Frequency function added to the radio. May improve the (Shite) reception -not tested this yet
Wireless CarPlay
Web browser
Car location visible in the app
Electronic manual app added but it does not appear to be available yet for IE
Changes in the UI CPD has its own tab and is called something else and the panorama camera is named differently too
Happy out 😁
Where is the vehicle location in the app?
I don't think that's working for me on 2403, unless I've missed something.
My mistake. Seems I just needed to update settings in the app. Working now.
I think that setting is in the app not the car. Pushing enable brings you there
General question here. I have owned an id3 for last 3 years. No complaints whatsoever. Hasn't cost me a cent apart from changing tyres. Looking for a bit more range, should I go for id4 77kw or one of the BYD range. Sorry I can't be more specific but not au fait with BYD cars. Thank you.
Not sure what range any of the id's bring but for reference I'm getting about 475km in the AWD flavour in this weather on 80/100km/h roads with the odd bit of weeeeee style driving thrown in.
In winter that was 400km on similar roads with a tiny bit of motorway thrown in.
It's in the car and the app but I had already enabled it in the car (which I remember from my pics in yesterday's post), thanks.
My wife has an id4.
Nice car, obviously much bigger on the inside.
Software is appalling in my view. Very poor UI/UX.
Range is inferior to the Seal, and it's just nowhere as nice to drive IMHO.
I should know by now, but how is everyone upgrading to 2403? Do you need to downgrade first or?
No I went from 2310 to 2403, no issues.
TBF I had the same question.
Same here. Straight upgrade from 2310. No issues
Is there any concern that manually upgrading to 2403 using a package probably not meant for the Irish market will cause future over the air updates to not work?
I received an OTA update already (Language pack) after the manual upgrade to 2403.
I guess it depends on whether you prefer a compact SUV to a saloon car? I had an ID.3, loved it but did swap it for a Seal AWD, and the wife has an ID.4. In terms of range; I'd normally charge the ID.3 to 80% and the GOM would read about 260km on an average day. In the Seal, they say to charge to 100%, so the GOM on average day for me reads 500+km. Granted, real range is much, much lower (plenty of posts here to give you real range of both the RWD and the AWD), but you probably get the gist of the difference between the two cars there.
For me, the Seal is much more plush inside, has plenty of poke for me (I'm too old to be a boy racer by any means), range is definitely more than the ID.3 I had, and it has plenty of toys (like the 360 camera and big screen). I have no regrets moving from the ID.3 to the Seal. Take a test drive, though - I was sceptical until I did and I've not looked back!
Is it the process outlined on the guy on YouTube? Xinger tech I think.
Yes. easy enough if you follow the video.. If you are in the south east I have it all done on a USB. Just plug into the car and wait 20 min. Update complete
I am and thank you for the offer, however I have to learn it at some stage. Might as well be more!
Cheers
I'd password issues last time out so didn't go ahead is this still an issue or are current PW known?
No password needed if you are just upgrading from 2310 to 2403. Only necessary I understand if you are downgrading and side loading apps. I didnt do that
This is a global firmware update and will be rolled out OTA at some stage, valid question but I've had no issue receiving OTAs after manually upgrading/ downgrading.
Yup - getting the case sensitive folder naming and structure correct is really the only place you can go wrong, and if you do, the upgrade will just refuse to start.
Anyone in Dublin got the 2403 on USB that i could latch onto?….Help an old man out.
To be honest I would be wary of loading any upgrades that don't come directly OTA from BYD talking to the salesperson I bought the car from he said they could possibly affect your warranty if a problem occurs.just need to be careful on this matter.
I wouldn't, not in the least as long as you have any idea what you're doing.
Factory reset is merely a click away (if needed).
Original 2307 firmware is widely available and Android supports multiple recovery methods, it's very difficult to do something that's irrecoverable.
