Best of luck everyone!
I just received this update from PAS:
"We do not have a timeline as to when we will commence the clearance of batch 4.2, we are currently clearing the Open candidates from batch 3.3."
So if I'm reading that correctly does this mean
1) there's a 4.1 batch before the batch I'm in?
2) Is the order of merit number independent for each batch and not an overall number?
I've gone from being optimistic to being placed before the panel expires to slightly less so. Any guidance much appreciated.
Hi Ritournelle thank you for the offer of help. Could I ask you and anyone else that has been called forward for interview recently what your OOM was on the original testing done to give me an indication of whether there's any hope of being called before the panel expires. My original OOM on the inter-d was 1281 and on Open 1787. Many thanks
Hi all, I received the below reply from PAS yesterday:
"We are still calling Open candidates to clearance from batch 3.3. Therefore, there are approx. 29 candidates ahead of you to be called for clearance before your position is reached."
I was in batch 4.3 and placed 10th on the open panel.
I hope this is helpful!
Senna2804 would you mind indicating your original OOM so I can tell if I'm going to be called by 31st Oct 24?
I am so confused with the batches and OOM stuff. I am in batch 4.2 (i did my interview on 1st May) but if you are 4.3 then i'm even more confused as there has hardly been another batch of interviews in the last 3 weeks.
So the interdepartmental panel seems to be moving quicker as its been cleared up until my batch 4.2. The open panel is still being cleared from batch 3.3 according to PAS.
I was 992 on interdepartmental and around 1400 on open if that's any help.
Many thanks Jones - think I'm way too far away on either to get the call before panel lapses so won't think about it anymore on this competition. We'll see on next one if can improve on OOM. Thanks again for responding.
Hi, mine was 904 interd and 1228 on open on the Stage 1, the Stage 2 shortlisting I received in February then.
Hi, did you contact Pas for the batch number or is it listed somewhere?
is that your OOM after interview or aptitude tests? Sorry not being nosey. Just trying to figure out this process!
You get different OOM after each stage, after the aptitude test, at a shortlisting stage when your application is reviewed and then finally when you're successful in the interview. So it's the last one that counts, but the others might indicate if you could get called for the interview
No it's not listed anywhere but PAS told me I am in batch 4.2.
Thanks ive followed up with them, hope they are anxious to fill some vacancies!
Ha ha yes definitely. 5 months to panel expiring but it's hard to know how the open and interdepartmental panels will move.
Fingers crossed for us
Definitely at this stage of the process, would be great to get in before the next cycle begins! Here's hoping :)
My interview was rescheduled so I think that they put rescheduled interviews into a new batch but it's for the same panel.
best of luck! Have you submitted your strategic exercise yet?
Dublin? I'm 1 & 2 on a Wexford Panel. Clock ticking. I hope I don't have to start all over again come November 1st! Internal Comp I also placed on expired last year. If it's 3 from 3 I'll be sorely disappointed!
Yep Dublin panel
Hi, I received a message today saying I was successful at short listing stage (Stage 2 Result). My scores seemed poor enough going by the metric they seemed to be using. I had forgotten about this competition.
What are chances of been called for an Interview, and does this panel expire at the end of the year. Competition ID 22434207. Sorry I don't understand the procedure with these comps.
Thanks/
yes, I believe it expires at end of October 2024!
Very interesting that they are still calling from this competition considering it's ending in just over 5 months (31st October). That could be good news for all of us 🤞
I'm guessing you will be called for interview otherwise why move you to the next stage.
I passed stage 2 in late February and still haven’t been called for interview, so I dunno if I’d hold out much hope.

Well I don’t think they’d proceed with more Stage 2 shortlisting if they werent anticipating another batch or two of interviews or have sufficient vacancies so if your shortlisting score isnt too far off at that stage 2, Id anticipate getting to interview stage.
My thinking exactly, hopefully that indicates there’s a lot of places to be filled and bodes well for those on a Dublin panel
I picked two regional counties for my preferences. Would they be shortlisting me based on that or would they just be doing a generic shortlisting.?
Going by how little the regional positions seem to move I'm surprised you've been moved to the next stage based on location alone (if not Dublin) but honestly who knows.
hi
Any update on Dublin open batch 3.3? Have they started clearing internal candidates from batch 4?
