Wouldn't surprise me, its very common.
When you focus all your time & energy fixing one injury, other areas of the body that aren't injured are neglected during that phase, they are then prone.
Breaking down on a cameo game isn't good look.
For me it just gives off an impression they rushed him back too soon, as the management could possibly be feeling the pressure after the Galway collapse.
Right decision to give Paddy a few mins in the legs in a no pressure situation to get him prepped for upcoming games. Won't stop mystic megs criticising it mind you
Two week break ahead of the Rossie game whereas they've only a week after playing Dublin, that should give us a sizeable advantage
Exactly. As I've said in a separate thread the team physios assessment obviously gave him the go ahead to play. That's based on the information they had at the time not hindsight.
Go away out of that with your logic. Sure don’t the Keyboard warriors and podcast whingers know much more than the management teams about the health and capabilities of the players both on the panels and not part of the panel?.
Great to see most of the non-starters released out to the clubs today.
You'd imagine minutes for the likes of Bob Tuohy no harm at all. With Paul Towey bagging at least 3-6 (2-2 from play, a few scores unattributed on Twitter so possibly one or two other points his too) against Knockmore should do wonders for his confidence.
It is and regardless how any team does against Dublin you really need two weeks rest after it as it's very energy sapping against the Dubs in Croke Park
Durcan cruciate confirmed.
Disaster for him, hope he recovers okay
Disaster for Mayo too. Absolutely no like for like replacement. We are very much missing something when he's not there.
I feel very bad for Paddy. He's had no luck the last year or so.
There's no equivalent replacement but it's up to someone else to take the chance to grab the position now.
Best wishes and speedy recovery to Paddy.
The team & management will now need to step up big-time to offset his loss.
you would have to wonder about Mcstays media cop on. He must have had an inkling about the seriousness of paddy’s injury after the game but yet his post match interview was like we beat Kerry in Tralee. I’ve never seen anything as odd, like a giddy school child taking about how happy he was. Very odd

Its finally dawned on the county board and maybe the management team that another hiding in Croke park could do serious damage to this Mayo team who are brittle with confidence atm..
Id fancy us to give them a run for their money, or at least keep it respectable in a neutral venue.
It's the correct thing to do but kinda ridiculous that it has to be discussed at all. Should be a neutral venue full stop - the same as it is for every other county.
Having Dublin and everyone else play Croker from quarter final onwards is fair enough as we get to the business end of the championship. But not until then.

He must have read your message.
This should be the end of the matter. Won't be Croke Park.
What would be a convenient neutral venue for Mayo and Dublin?
Tullamore isn't that convenient for Mayo, so possibly Longford, Mullingar or Hyde Park.
We've been discussing this earlier in the thread.
Longford, Mullingar - Very unlikely due to small capacity
Hyde Park, Tullamore, Breffni Park, Limerick - All possible options
what about salthill?…walking distance for half the mayo fans.
Pretty sure that for big matches like Mayo/Dublin, the GAA want as many seats as possible (as opposed to standing terraces), especially with the amount of season ticket holders, so the most likely venue would be Limerick or Thurles, I reckon
Too far from Dublin I'd say.
My preference is Limerick but it depends on what crowd is expected. Mayo supporters haven't mobilised in big numbers yet this year but if we put in a big performance at the weekend then it may lead to a bigger crowd. Thurles seems too far out of the way.
I posted this 2 and a half weeks ago and not a lot has changed since then.
Its a neutrel game so unless Mayo want it in Croker it won't be there.
If Mayo don't beat roscommon the Dublin game would struggle to even sell out.
All eyes should be firmly on sat week and nothing past that.
Just did a google.
Hyde Park capacity is 19,000. Limerick is 44,000. I'm guessing the GAA will favour Limerick as one option.
Salthill could be tricky for Dublin supporters, but is an option.
Well all team and management eyes should be on Saturday week. Supporters on forums that the team will never read can speculate away on venues with no harm done.
I can't see Salthill being an option.
Season ticket holders who bought the three match package later last week were warned it was possible/likely they’d be on the terrace for the Dublin game. Read into that whatever way you’d like. But on that basis I don’t think they’re planning on Limerick which has lots of seats.
That Hyde park capacity is from before the new seats went in.At that time a lot of the concrete benches were cordoned off,it's nearer 24k now.
I'd prefer Hyde Park or Limerick but it'll be Tullamore.
so the most likely venue would be Limerick or Thurles, I reckon
Based on your username I take it you are from Limerick.
A few times over the years here I've seen Thurles mentioned as a neutral ground for a Mayo or Galway football game by people from Munster.
I think they do it because the are used of going to hurling games there.
Thurles is about as awkward a place to get to in the country for Mayo and Galway football people.
It's the middle of nowhere below in Munster.
It doesn't have any motorway or dual carriageway access, and if you were to get a train to it you would have to change twice if not three times.
Do people even think before they blurt it out as a possible location for a Mayo game, or are they just familiar with it and so used to going to it they think everyone else should be too?
Game should be in Belmullet. Fairest for the folk in Erris. Achill would also be a suitable venue. Great view from the pitch there too. I'd have suggested Cill Chomáin but the traffic congestion might be too much for the Dubs to bear. I'd have suggested Bangor but the bright lights and sky scrapers would fry the brains of the City slickers.
Semple is 9 km ffrom the M8?
