I quite like that. It's a decent space for the price both inside and out. A good decluttering and the patience to paint and decorate room by room and you'd have a lovely house. Location and the cold might be the major drawbacks assuming it's structurally sound.
Houses like this one always give me a pang of sadness, it has obviously been someone's very well cared for home for many years. The funeral wreath pictured in multiple rooms doesn't help. What I really want to know though is what is this thing on the wall in pic 15. It is surrounded by the same tiles/brickwork as the fireplace downstairs. A thermometer of some sort??

That looks like a heating element
An old electric heater.
The funeral wreath - did the owner's executors put the house on the market as soon as the hearse pulled out?
Did the EA move the same wreath around for the photos or did the undertaker not bother to put them in the hearse?
It's bizarre.
Seems he died in 2021 and she died July last year, Makes sense as it's 6 months or more to execute an estate.
Flowers are odd, maybe on the way to another funeral? Not sure why the auctioneer put them in.
The heating element thing was the height of tech when that house was built. I rented a room in a house in college and they all had them. Essentally a large element of the type you'd find on a 3 bar heater. Dangerously hot and sucks the life out of the electric grid. Control is below the heater which makes it more awkward to use. They were a fad for a few short years until we copped on to them.
I feel the same when I see these types of houses. That was obviously a well loved and cared for home. Pics 4-7 remind me of my in laws and the his and hers chairs on either side of the open fire.
It looks like the EA borrowed a wreath and used it to add colour to the photos. I'm surprised it wasn't placed on top of the washing machine in pic 10.
really weird that the element is vertical rather than horizontal. dont think i've seen that before.
Looks like the EA Photoshopped in the flames in the fireplaces. Theres no reflection from them in the hearth tiles, nor glow in the fireplace, and they look odd. This is what happens when people are let loose with generative AI tools.
They're all at that now and using cgi of furniture to show what the house could look like along with changing the colour of the sky in the exterior photos.
It's amazing that they seem to fit a double bed, 2 bedside tables, chest of drawers etc into a tiny bedroom. They must be hobbit sized.
There was hallway, house is too narrow, only 1 room wide. That's original.
Front Room. Rear Elevation.
Correct. An unenclosed stair, as in an open plan layout is permissible - but not where the stairs discharges into the kitchen, or passes within 3m of a kitchen.
Shining Vibes from this one,
3 bathrooms with a walk in closet also The shower unit is also interesting:

but i would not mind it , Loughrea is a town full of pubs at least
I love it. All the paintings seem to be by Bob Ross (or maybe "school of" Bob Ross). In pic 11: they removed the Sacred Heart picture but left the sanctuary lamp, so it can be replaced immediately.
I’m sure a lick of paint would help tone some of it down. I’ve a headache after seeing a couple of those photos.
Imagine trying to get down those stairs with a bad hangover 😧
Would make a great set for a rural 70's themed tv soap/drama…..
The reception room is just wow, all of that wood and the amazing carpet. It's a house I would love to see in person, it all looks in such good condition. It's a time capsule. Loving the avocado shower 🤣
I love it.
Yes, of course, it needs work, but I love it.
No garden out the back. A non-runner.
looks like an estate sale
it looks like the owners took great care and had a few bob back in the day.
Same there is no garden and i would wonder about the building at the end of the Garden with a window looking right in
Looks like a former B&B.
The shower units were very popular in Germany for a while. Saves all the mess of tiling a surround. It comes as a kit and the whole lot can be installed in well under a day by two competent handymen. Or by one person who does it professionally.
Would be a handy spot to buy if you're trying to start off. Live there, rent 2 of the rooms out to students or some Ukrainians via the government for a few years and you have most of your money back fairly quick. Good transport connections to Galway, 40 mins in the morning to GMIT, plenty of buses running.
€20K for new carpets and paint would go a long way. Probably avail of some grants to replace windows, boiler, insulation etc.
Loads more possibilities there compared to some other places.
I think the more likely explanation is that the estate agent once picked up a bunch of identical silk flower arrangements from somewhere at a discount and uses them for stagings…
But why pick something that looks like a wreath?
They stick out like a sore thumb in that house (and would in most other houses).
Just browsing that agent's properties, the interior of this one surprised me,

There's visible damp in some of the pics, not surprising for a house built in the 1820s, but it would be a money pit.
House was owned by the grandmother of a primary school Teaching Assistant called Tommy Allington who was jailed for 20+ years for repeatedly raping a baby and sharing the images on social media with other paedophiles. Before his trial he was bailed to his grandmother's address, but when local residents found out they gathered at the property and drove the pair out, leaving behind what you see in picture 14.
Reported to be Irelands cheapest house on social media.
It's location is beautiful but hard to know what anyone could do with it without living entirely off grid.
It's on the opposite side of the established greenaway and you'd need to walk 700m after driving down a narrow lane to the site.
Doesn't look like there'd be any room for a septic tank and very little chance of getting connected to utilities from there.

An absolutely beautiful money pit.
I agree, in the right hands, and with deep pockets, that could be amazing.
