More talk of a region merger. Feels like every week. Hard to see them being competitive this season which is a shame.
Good call. That blocking stuff needs to be stopped
Koch thinks he is furlong
pretty incredible kick from for Ireland u19 Caolan Englefield.
Siya Masuku looks a really tidy 10 for Sharks. Interesting to see if the Springboks give him a call. He’s turned them around this season to a certain extent.
Great defence from Sharks and huge scrums
Presumably we'll discuss the challenge cup final here? Or the general rugby thread?
That's unbelievable from Etzebeth
HEaley calling for a YC. What a dose. It was a mistimed tackle but pen only.
Yeah would think that's likely
Their main Broadcaster probably has a say, in Ireland, they'll be two provinces with home QFs and possibly two different broadcasters so they may be waiting to see the line up to decide on who gets what and when
You'd assume Leinster will be the Friday night game then. Bulls 3pm (IST) and Munster 5:30pm on the Saturday.
Glasgow announce their QF will be on Saturday 8th June at 7.35. Guess maybe there will be 1 match Friday and 3 matches on Saturday so. Bit unusual for 1 club to be able to announce their fixture separate to the other ones. https://x.com/GlasgowWarriors/status/1794027421416448207?t=hSDnBoOaTDHHmc9kEoDg0A&s=19
JC Pretorius for me. Game still in the balance, and with 14 men.
Or Casey.
Or Gelant.
I'm not good at this.
As is Casey's try v Leinster
I think it's Munster's try of the season
Gelents try v Leinster is some score
URC quality has really improved since SA arrived
You can now vote for try of the URC season

The shields are linked to some charity donations this year. I don't quite understand what, but fair play if some use
comes of them.
ok
Never mind… It's not worth explaining.
Sure who else is going to be top of the welsh shield only a welsh team?
I was simply referencing that the meaningless pisstake shields are all that the welsh have to go to, and how that's a sad reflection of Welsh rugby. Reinforcing the meaninglessness of them.
Whats the irish shield got to do with the welsh?
And yet it's the only thing the Welsh teams have going for them these days which is a sad state of affairs.
you could very easily have a situation in TP Saturday week where Munster win and top the League and Ulster are awarded a trophy for topping the Irish shield table thing. Bit of a meaninngless pisstake really
Agreed. I'd kinda forgotten about the shield, and had no idea what the rankings were until I saw this stat surface this weekend.
The shields are meaningless. Munster will more than likely top the table but finish 3rd in the shield. Only the URC table actually counts.
Which was the point I was making and the Welsh all get to play The Dragons twice again almost guaranteeing them a 10 pointer. Those 10 points can push teams up the table to the detriment of an Irish province.
As unfair as it is, the Irish Provinces probably don't want to change it as the InterPros are their money spinners.
I'd say the two toughest Shields are the Irish & SA shield
Glasgow and Zebra aint in the Irish shield.
Hadn't thought of an Irish team heading to SA for a potential final and then some of the players heading there for the summer tour.
I think the game the league might need the most would be Bulls v Leinster in the semi. A fully stacked Leinster team going to Pretoria to avenge 2022 would be a fascinating contest in its own right, but mix in altitude, the Nienabar angle, and the impending Irish tour, and it sets the table for a fantastic backstory.....
..…(with the winners then losing to Munster in the final, of course)....
The actual stat is not lost to a non Irish team away from home this season.
