Who you going for?
I think Fury didn't force the issue mid fight as he was conscious Usyk can finish a fight strongly.
The count in round 9 saved him, Usyk should have been allowed finish it. It was a close fight in my opinion, round 9 was huge.
Usyk bossed the fight tonight all night. Yes, Fury had some success, but Usyk was 4-5 rds clear. I scored Usyk/AJ fight 2 115-113 Usyk
Yeah glad he wasn’t robbed, fully deserved the win. Looked to me he was breathing heavy in those 3 rounds Tyson won but got a second wind from 7 onwards, so close the getting the stoppage too. Impressive performance.
Usyk is a phenomenon. When he moved up I honestly never thought he could do this.
He wasn’t getting battered but Fury was totally controlling the figh at end rd 6. It all changed in those last 90secs in rd 7 or 8 whichever one the knockout was. The nose smasher totally rocked him and he never got back into it.
True it never got to the fucked point, but it was coming imo, he was hurt several times and I thought he was wilting, but as I said it all changed again.
Also its been said in the studio, but if round 9 was the other way and it was Usyk in that bad of trouble it would of been stopped without doubt.
What would you expect from a pig but a grunt?
Usyk is some boyo. He always seems to find a way to get it done. He looked like he was in with Goliath tonight. I was extremely impressed with the speed of punch of both in the early rounds. Thought Usyk was gone after 6 but he just kept going and that was enough. The decision should have been unanimous but i5 doesn’t matter.
Isn't the saying that you'd always pick a good, big fighter over a good, little fighter? Usyk proved that wrong and it was some win considering the size difference. Usyk has the heart of a lion.
Guys, pretty much ALL night Usyk was pushing Fury backwards and pressing the action . That was the resl story of the fight and result. Fury either allowed is, or couldn’t stop it. That’s what was the deciding factor tonight
Laughable that one of the judges gave it to Fury. Usyk was the clear winner and would have finished it in the 8th if the ref hadn’t stepped in to save Fury
I was a bit surprised Fury didn't catch him with a few more big shots than he did. His conditioning is astonishing. Just doesn't wear down despite the size disadvantage. His feet just stay moving.
usyk should just leave on a high. Would piss fury off not giving hi rematch like fury done to his countryman wlad.
I agree with that
Whatever about Usyk fury couldn't have used worse tactics tonight, didn't remotely use his wight advantage to any effect, didn't clinch at all.
Thank god we got the right result though and it wasn't another boxing robbery
What’s the rule there. Like why wasn’t he allowed knock him down. Is it just a case of the referee deciding to step in or what.
. M
Ropes held Fury up. Ref probably correct. Scored a KD due to ropes holding boxer up
The ref didn't step in the bell rang mate
It was obviously a choice to fight on the back foot. To be fair to him it was working extremely well. But when he was dominating and had Usyk tired and hurt he should have started coming forward and clinching etc.
Baffling that he stayed on the back foot and it cost him
No it didn't, bell rang after/during the count
Because by the rules of boxing, if the referee believes the ropes save a fighter from going down, he has to give him a count, because he would have gone down otherwise.
As frustrating as it was, the referee was correct.
eddie hearn, said draw or usyk by round. Near KO clouding peoples judgement too.
Was following on BBC website text. What happened with the 10 count for Fury in round 9? Bell at 9?
he gave him a standing count before the bell rank and scored a knockdown for usyk
True.
I dunno, sometimes you want a ref to step in early when those things happen. It was a knock down 10-8 round, so maybe best to do it that way, than to risk real damage to the fighter
Working well? Judges very much score to aggressors and boxers pressing forward in any close rds. Several close rds where Usyk the presdure/aggressor fighter.
Usyk needed 15-30 seconds rd 9 for the KO
Be fcuking hilarious if Usyk retired and walked off into the sunset, Fury would go mad but would look hilarious since he did it himself.
