It is made by BYD aka Build Your Dreams. Hope it comes here and that they change the name before it does,
This could really challenge the Tesla Model 3.
It looks great inside and out
Possibly, the pavement is a dished driveway so about 1 inch high.
It was the only photo I had to hand of it, other than the interior.
Also with two wheels up on the pavement, the suspension could be taking up some slack.
Does look it but could just be an illusion of the sideskirt on Seal sticking out and facing outwards while the M3 has rounded sideskirts towards the inside (as most other cars) where the actual edge is not visible.
Low enough.
Here’s a Model 3 and it looks to be slightly higher?
I had a look there and seems that the Octavia starts at 137mm, BMW 144 and the BYD Seal 145mm (all model dependant). Surprising really but could just be down to the design and the other cars having bits stick out lower at some points. Unless off-roading, ground clearance isn't really an issue in Ireland and if you consistently bottom out, you're just going too fast for the road conditions.
Anybody fancy measuring it to confirm on the Seal?
AWD, upgrade notification popped up there. Can't do it as says take 22 mins don't have that today
Ya lane assistant was really bad for us in south wexford. Oddly enough it's not in south wicklow. No idea!
The BMW and the Skoda are more than 130mm.
I leave the speed alerts on and disable the active lane keep intervention. It beeps to tell me I'm wandering over the line or into the ditch but doesn't try push the car back out from the ditch.
Kind of a must do for rural traffic.
I’ll be getting him to add that tomorrow. Thanks.
As LM says above, 2 touch disable, very easy. And an absolute must, every single time you start.
You don't need a notification. You add the option to the shortcut icon menu. So its always 1 swipe down available
That’s assuming the notification is active I think?
I done that today on my brothers Seal but as I had previously deleted the notification, nothing was there on swipe down.
Or did I do it wrong?
And mine has mudflaps on it as well so its even lower
Definitely agree with that, nearly 4000 km up on my awd now a good proportion of this on country backroads with no issues at all
Nice review on this Mark. I have the RWD and am really pleased with it. Just on the Bips for the Traffic Speed limits its very easy to override this without going into the menus, just a swipe down of the finger and switch of, just takes a second.
The ground clearance seems to be in line with other cars like BMW 530e or a Skoda Octavia so definitely nothing to be concerned about. Regardless, an EV would be better equipped to handle bottoming out than a lot of ICE cars due to not having exposed parts running along the underside.
I live in mountainous wicklow surrounded by sub par roads.
It's perfectly fine 7000km plus in so far. Zero issues.
It's only 130mm. too low for me anyway.
Au contraire. The only time I bottomed out was on an urban speed ramp.
I'm as rural as it gets with very nasty potholes nearby.
Saw one of these for the first time in Ennis at the weekend. Nice in fairness. But too low to the road for country roads in my opinion. Ok for motorway or urban driving maybe.
Not enough to be gained yet TBH other than location services in the app.
I'll probably wait for the OTA
Here ya go.
Mark have you a link to your review of the AWD Model?
Shouldnt be like that though!
It's fine once you're in an open area I find. Behind a hill or mountain and it's game over.
There must be little or no aerial in the Seal. My reception is useless most of the time. You can get it middling while car is stationary but as soon as you move it loses it completely
Your last three cars would have had an extended aerial in the roof liner or rear window makeup the catch the signals. Aerial design very much has to do with it. Interior or exterior. Putting them outside means less real estate needed for a larger one inside.
anyone brave enough yet ???
Down to 15.9kwh now RWD coming up to 2800km on the clock. That's after doing a fair bit of the last 500km at motorway speed in the last week and a good bit of traffic. 10% pretty much per 50km.
