There is absolutely no way that Usyk is 12lbs heavier than last fight. He's playing games in my opinion.
I can't get Fury's last fight out of my head. Although he looks in considerably better shape, I do wonder if all that fluctuating has caught up to him.
Are you suggesting the weights are incorrect, and Usyk did not weigh 233? Wouldn’t that then have to involve deception/collusion with the boxing authorities?
Word is he is correct
Usyk weight was read incorrectly he's 223lbs
where have you seen that?
U can hear it in the Audio the lad reading the scales says 223.19 and the announcer calls it out wrong on the mike

So if Usyk was actually 223, without the jeans and necklace he is probably really 220ish.
that’s what I’m thinking, his usual self maybe a pound or two heavier
100% correct, excellent point. Had this argument with someone today.
buffer misheard and announced it incorrectly.
time for buffer to be put out to pasture
Wtf. So 223.. idiot Buffer, and remove the jeans and necklace and he’s circa 219 as I says!!👌
I was struggling looking at Usyk to see 233. He looked lean and “light” to me.
I thought the same there was a stone missing somewhere!
As matter interest did anyone check betting odds after 233 was thought as for the weight? I was going to. Thinking the odds maybe favoured Fury more. He’s 6 to 5 on now. Usyk 11 to 10.
Yep. For me anyway. I think it’s common as well
After the weigh in Usyk 5/4 fury 19/20 with tbe draw at 14/1
Yeah. Very old school though I think? It never made any sense to me so I’d always say 5/6
how do you think the boys slept last night? I wouldn’t get a wink!
Why didn’t they immediately correct Buffer. Right beside him, heard him clearly and allowed 233 to stand..
Very very hard fight to call this. Is either fighter still at their best?
Fury was rubbish against Ngannou. Usyk has looked vulnerable to me at heavy. Neither has huge power.
I think this will be a bit of a game of chess.
But then heavyweight is so unpredictable these days. Either could rush in early and go for the stoppage.
My money is on Fury to rise to the occasion as always.
I don’t recall many WBO champs being considered proper champions in the 90s. I know it was considered legitimate in England at Middleweight or Super Middle but did the US see it as relevant?
I agree with this. I watched them recently and thought they were both close fights. Usyk deserved to win but it wasn’t at all easy for him.
As I said, it wasn’t seen as prestigious or as established in the U.S.
But still officially a 4 belt era in 1999, and same today. Hence the WBO being on the line as part of undisputed
in the second fight he wore some leather in the 9th I think and then Usyk bit down and Joshua didn’t get near him again. It’s not like he was just gonna sweep joshua aside but he was a clear winner and that’s as much as can be asked. This would be an achievement on another scale altogether though
Usyk will never have an easy fight at HW. He doesn't have the size or punch power early on to make the big guys think twice about walking forward.
However it's the fact his output never drops but actually increases as the fight goes on that makes him formidable.
He has and will continue to get big wins at HW. But it'll never really look aesthetically easy despite the fact that Usyk himself probably feels some of these so called difficult fights were handy enough work.
exactly. They can all overpower and manhandle him. He gets stronger as things develop he sees things and pours it on hard. At lower weights often when a fighter goes up the bigger guy catches him like with GGG and Canelo with Kahn and Brook. Granted P4P they weren’t on the same level anyhow though
good interview here with dominic ingle if anyone is bored waiting for the fight later
Kovalev looks old!!
Is there no thread for the main event?
Nobody bothered creating one. Go for it. Put some details in.
