Afraid not
I think member-guest rate is probably the only way to get on for a reasonable price.
Any members want to take me out? 😊
Harrington playing the back 9 in the European club
That Finch is the most arrogant bollox I’ve ever seen. He thinks so highly of himself and has no right to.
Great watch.. I watched it twice now..
Great watch, thanks. Love the course, it just eats you up and spits you out though.
He takes a while to get used to but produces some great content, if we could mix together Finch and Rick then we'd have it made
whoah… wee bit over the top there no? you should cop a load of soly from NLU if you want to see some arrogance swinging
Not sure either of them have too much arrogance in golf terms, it’s the presenter style they use when talking to a camera like they’re hoping to get picked up by tv producer that grates on me. Not enough that I won’t watch a video that I’m interested in.
Ya it’s his personality moreso
I wouldn't be a huge fan of Peter Finch either but I could listen to Padraig and his words of wisdom all day
they get far more eyeballs and therefore value on the platform where they already are. TV would be a big step down for them
Watch a bit of Finch and Shiels and they are OK lads…but don't find them that interesting, they don't really have anything deep, meaningful or well thought out on anything they do...and it is that English sort of banter mate that is a bit corny to be honest.
At Least Finch looks a serious player ..poor Rick is brutal ro be honest (for a.lad who tries to do what he is at)
Look all subjective..suprises me the dislike for Solly ...he has turned himself into a great presenter..has great research..knowledge of game and events ...has an opinion (even if you agree with it no not ) ...at least has something to actually say versus the English lads ...
Anyway...a bit off topic but suprising the dislike for solly..
Yeah , Finch is very likeable.. Seriously good player.. Rick can be marmalade on your poached eggs.
Nlu are different.
Connemara one of my favourite courses. Played I once and shot my best score ever. Happy memories.
To my shame I have not played Dingle or Connemara ...I just know I will love them..landscape a big part of the golf experience for me.
They are definitely up there with some of the most inaccessible golf in Ireland. Also your typically in them areas for family holidays ..cultural events ..history, heritage ..dolphins..cycles and music ..It just never seems to be picked or spoken of as a golf holiday . The seaside links definitely dominate the pull for most trips .
Definitely going to try pick them off soon as I near the end of the links road in Ireland...
As I'm 50 later in the year, I decided this is the year to play as many of the top links courses in the country.
So far I've done Lahinch Old & Castle, Enniscrone, Tralee, Ballybunion Old, Dooks (tomorrow), RCD (next Thursday), and Ballybunion Cashen in June.
I'll hopefully get some east coast courses in also but they are a bit price prohibitive. Sligo and Donegal are also on the radar. The Rosapenna three-links deal is great value at €210. Ballyliffin would be nice to play with the Amateur C'ship there this year. Carne would be a bonus.
How did you find Dooks? The green were as hard as I have played.
Doing the something similar big 50 in July Starting tomorrow hiring out a campervan and playing Corballis, RCD, Portrush, North West, Ballyliffin old and Glashedy in the next 7 days. Praying the body holds up to it.
Turning 50 sounds class. Can't wait.
It was glorious. The greens were in great condition and the sunshine topped it off. I didn't care how I scored, luckily enough!
Dingle (cheeky name as a good bit away from Dingle) is not that great, very plain, one to tick off the list for sure but not one to come back and play again, if you're going all the way to Connemara then make sure you play all 27 holes, it's a long way to go to miss out on them
if you were to offer me membership of any course down there it would be Dooks, loved everything about the course and the club
I'm hopping across on the ferry to Wales to play a number of courses for a week at the end of the month. Anyone every played Royal St. Davids, Conwy, Nefyn or North Wales golf course? The green fees are quite reasonable for that part of the world and the on-line reviews seem pretty good. Just worries about the long range forecast , its not good !
Would disagree on that, he is cheesy more than anything, tries a little to hard to be funny/witty but is a genuine decent guy, and puts out good content (mostly), I'll admit I've turned the odd vid off when the cheese got too much but overall I like him.
Played Conwy - stunning brilliant golf course - with top quality design and fantastic golf holes.
In theory North Wales is a course I should have loved - but it was in truly awful condition when I was there last summer. Like properly bad. Not sure how - but do your research if you are going to play it. Area of wales is nice.
I was never in Wales before - but I got a sense they are not too keen on the Irish . - or just me.
cool, the reviews I've seen on Conwy were very good. I suspect of the 5 courses I've booked North Wales will probably be the worst (the 5th I've booked is a heathland course Bull Bay). Some rankings have St Davids as the 2nd best in Wales and Conwy around 5th so it will be interesting to see how they measure up to the likes of Ballybunion.
Not many places in the world have an Irish style Links .
Conwy is more like a flat / rock face links , it is more aligned to a portmarnock style .
Clever run offs and bunkering ...it has held fairly significant events ...maybe walker cup ?
An actual course you'd join.. Irish big West Coast courses are too hard if truth be know...
In that neck of the woods, played Holyhead last year. Very quirky course, but enjoyable.
Links-style turf, but more of a heathland-style course. Lots of gorse bushes
