It's bizarre, how does anyone decide that wallpapering kitchen presses is a good idea? How are you supposed to clean grease, hand marks etc?
And Lord only know what's underneath all the paper and fake brick panels.
OMG…its like on every surface….even the ceiling in places….
…..just stop it, stop it now.
Or what is under all those floor mats.
I agree to an extent but I know the building. It is on the Main Street of a traffic clogged village/town and has no parking. Nobody who could afford the entire building would even consider living there.
One of the houses from Normal people...

For me, there are a few things that are a bit off with this house. The odd placement of the cooker, what looks like a tiled bedroom & a couple of other odd decor choices.
Strange choice I agree, but I think the tiled bedroom is wallpaper - look at the angle in the corner of the room.
edit, no maybe not, there is a bead round the window and a tiny break in the frieze on the corner.
That's got to be one of the most bizarre houses we've seen on here. How could anyone think that looks decent.
Also, all the plastic flowers - I can only imagine the dust that gathers on them. I'm going to attempt to have another look later. I got bamboozled yesterday looking at it 😁
🤣😂 They really love that brick wallpaper alright.
They seems to have a love for electric fires as well ( or else they are badly needed to heat the house). There seems to be 2 in most rooms.
I think the cooker/kitchen was in the other room with the big built in unit. Might have moved the kitchen to its present location because of noise/odours.
Tiled floor in the bedroom is unusual in Ireland alright, very common in the Med. Big money for Co Sligo, but good location.
Tiled floor in the bedroom is unusual
I think its the tiled walls that are more of an issue!
You can try to work it out using the land and property services search function here:
https://valuationservices.finance-ni.gov.uk/Property/Search
There's 10 properties listed under the postcode for the house. Some are listed as self catering cottages but I don't think the list includes the actual house itself. The approximate total rates bill for the 10 would amount to £26,650. Assume you could double that figure for the main house itself. So lets say 50-60k annual rates. For comparison, the rates for my house in Belfast are 2k per year. But if you can afford the estate, you can definitely afford that annual bill!
https://www.daft.ie/for-sale/semi-detached-house-32-omahony-avenue-carrick-on-suir-co-tipperary/5675629 - Which is the floor and which is the ceiling?
Given the state of the damp, unplastered, slabbed kitchen ceiling I can only imagine what's above the living room ceiling.
What's going on there?
I missed that!
It looks like they floored from both sides and realised the 2 in the middle didn’t fit so just angled them. 🤣
So much dampness in the air it caused the wooden floors to swell.
The cloth, or whatever it is, caught my eye. It actually features in another photo of the room, from a different angle. I was genuinely puzzled by it. The house in general looks cold and uncared for. And no toilet seat in the main bathroom. 🥴
A complete gut and redo job alright, down to insulation and more than likely plumbing and electrics. I'd be very iffy about those downlighters in the wooden ceiling, it doesn't look like a house where professionals were brought in.
There's handrails in the shower.
I'll go out on a limb and say an elderly man lived in it.
I would think that at some stage the house had a garage which was then incorporated into the living room ( badly) causing the different levels in the floor. You can see from the front that the window is strange aswell, like it was inserted to cover in the garage door.
Was only sold 2 years ago for 165k. Presumably all thats been done to it since is add wallpaper. More and more wallpaper.

€2,000 a month for an apartment in Athboy ?
I'd actually love to see the "before" photos.
Seemed reasonably priced for what it is, not derelict

Ah.
Jesus. Not what I was expecting :D
How about this lovely, affordable shed in the middle of nowhere in Westmeath for the low, low price of €1100 per month? https://www.daft.ie/for-rent/studio-apartment-dysart-castletown-geoghegan-co-westmeath/5693844
What am I missing? What photo 14?
