For no reason my screen adopted shadows, how may I fix this please?
Did you mean to attach that cert there? If so, I see no shadows on that image. Try taking a photo of the screen showing the shadows instead?
Also, are you running a PC with an older monitor which has a 15 pin VGA cable? If so, try remove it from the PC and screen and then reattach it on both ends. If you have another monitor and cable, try swap them around.
I restarted my computer and all is fine now, thank anyway!
Recently had to download a couple of apps to my phone (never had to use them before) and now I discover I've lost some photos. The photos are now showing as blank squares. Is there any way to get them back?
Are you signed into your phone with a Google or Apple account? If yes, then they might be available via the relevant Photos service
I'll check that out, thanks a lot.
Anyone have any recommendations on a laser printer. Has to be compatible with a phone and Chromebook. My laptop died and my old inkjet printer while still working is not compatible with either. WiF connection would be needed I think. Possibly colour but a black print one would probably do.
TIA kat1170
Have a look on 123ink.ie
Cant really recommend a laser model as Im still using an inkjet type myself but if its any help Hunt Office Supplies always have a decent amount of printers in stock and the prices are always competitive.
I use a HP Color Laserjet Pro M283fdwv and am very pleased with it
Question: my brother bought a WiFi mesh extender thingy to extend to garage, too much brickwork, just didn't do it so forced ethernet cable out somehow. So now he has an ethernet cable terminating in his garage. Can he ethernet cable into the now moved to garage WiFi mesh extender which would then give him WiFi in his garage? In my limited knowledge I thought yes but he say he tried already but no worky. Can an ethernet cable feed a WiFi plug socket thing to give internet to an outbuilding?

^p is a paragraph ending, two of these can add a blank line. If only a wider space is required then you should adjust the paragraph settings, ideally by amending the style sheet, then you get consistency through your document or a series of documents. If you are doing a lot of documents then style sheets are worth investigation.
Word has become worse, if anything. The version 20 years ago was probably easier to use. But only an oulfella would say that.

I would echo that sentiment, and I'm not ancient yet. Not very ancient anyway.
Yes, if the extender supports it - he just needs to create an AP (access point) instead of a mesh with WiFi "backhaul" and it should all just work.
The WiFi backhaul is where the mesh uses the WiFi to connect to other mesh points, except in his case he'll just use the network cable.
….also, as you have an ethernet cable in the garage, a plain wifi router connected to the end of it will suffice. Maybe save the mesh for elsewhere in the house?
That's true!
Cheap printer anywhere?
How do I print a PDF document? I don't have a printer so I use the local library. I save the document to my laptop but when I e mail it to the library for printing all that gets received is a blank page with a link.
I am no expert, so someone else may have a better idea, but this is what I did previously.
Print the document, when you get to select printer, select print to PDF, give the file a name and note the location. Then you have a file to take or send to the library for printing.
Did you attach the PDF to the email? That should work, otherwise maybe ask the library staff for assistance.

I must look into that. Thanks folks:)
That might be your anti-virus scanner doing that, or maybe even their anti-virus. Try send it to a friend or other email address and see what comes out.
When sharing a PFD doc that is saved in Onedrive or similar you are sometimes asked if you want to send a link or a copy of the doc. If you can send a copy of the doc it should be received.
You could temporarily save it onto the pc's desktop, print it from there and then permanently delete it (by pressing SHIFT as well as Delete if I remember correctly).
If you see an offer on anything like "HP Deskjet 27.. All-In-One" burn your house down just in case you accidentally order it. You'd be better cabling your PC up to a giant rubix cube.
I have a HP Laserjet Professional, had it maybe 8 or 10 years, given excellent service.
A HP LaserJet Pro costs €400+ which explains why it has lasted 8-10 years.
A HP DeskJet costs about €50 which means its basically a motor and a printer cartridge - and when it comes to replace the cartridge, it will be cheaper to just replace the printer.
A cheap printer is a red herring.
Exactly. Should work for OP if they are using OneDrive or similar. Send link and send copy can be confused easily, so important for OP to think “send copy”
I'm pretty sure it didn't cost me 400 10 years ago! And thinking about it, its a good bit older than 10, how time flies 😁. The whole 'buy a new printer its cheaper than the cartridges' thing was why I bought it in the first place.
Andnow we're buying storage! How time files!
Sorry
