Well, you’d first need clear skies. But in general, a camera would be best to bring out the colours. Having said that, a faint red hue should be visible even to the naked eye. A colleague of mine in Germany who lives significantly further south than Ireland, sent me some impressive pictures earlier…

I went for a drive around some high ground to get a glimpse of the lights just now. Faint but visible. Came across two fawns out strolling too.
My car reg is probably being reported as we speak for acting suspicious in remote parts 🤣

Amazing light show last night, even with the lights of the town, they were beautiful. On the minus side I didn’t sleep very well and am tired this morning, but benefit was I got to see the lights.
No surprise there, auroras can fluctuate wildly, depending on the amount of charged particles hitting the upper atmosphere. I just really hope that the clouds stay away here for long enough for me to catch a glimpse tonight, since severe geomagnetic storm conditions are apparently continuing.
I was parked at Charles Fort in Kinsale last night thinking that i would be far enough away from lights, but as the sun set the clouds rolled in, so i saw nothing.
Got the car back, issue caused by a leaking oil pressure switch, €19+30 to fix it :):):)
Now back in Dublin enjoying a pint.
I would imagine Dublin price would have been much steeper 😒
I was rather shocked that it was so cheap. They knew that I had to get it back today and back to Dublin so I would have paid anything.

Its absolutely buzzing today around town, we went in and then went to pub near the pairc for tonight's match, great craic and hopefully it continues after the match...we seem to be on a roll since last night, wish it was a long weekend again. ☺️
