As for the cases going away, the current one is state level, even if reelected the case goes on, as he has no authority over it.
Such is not the case with the 2 Jack Smith cases, the documents case and the insurrection case. Both are federal. The Georgia case is state level as well.

16 and 21 are the higher profile birthdays - You can get your driving licence at 16 and you can drink at 21.
At 18 , you get to vote and join the army - Not things most 18 year olds are getting excited about.
