Trump attorney Susan Necheles is asking Stormy Daniels about her history making porn movies.
“You have a lot of experience of making phony stories about sex appear to be real,” Necheles says.
“Wow,” Daniels says with a pause. “That’s not how I would put it. The sex in the films is very much real just like what happened to me in that room.”
They’re sparring over whether Daniels made up the story with Donald Trump.

This along with all of their "Absolute Immunity" arguments fail to recognize that this stuff works both ways.
With absolute immunity , Biden can just have Trump renditioned off the streets and sent to a black site offshore for the rest of his days never to be seen again on the basis of his being a "threat to National security" and there would be absolutely nothing anyone could do about it.
Basically everything the stooges for tax cuts/Tea Party accused Obama of doing.
It doesn't even have to go that far about matters like absolute immunity etc…
I think there are lot's of judges in the US who are sympathetic to Trump. He would probably get off lightly and never even face jail time. Maybe a fine to pay, a suspended sentence, but nothing more.
It's very evident that the judiciary is biased, like court proceedings are procrastinating their start date, etc….
Trump will certainly continue to divide the society not only in the US but also around the world.

The big difference is that Trump, and the GOP, know the Democrats don't have the stomach for the fight that using immunity would require.
While the GOP talk about the constitution when it suits,like Art 2, the Democrats actual believe in it and would rather lose than go against it.

It’s not like they’re going to rule that presidents have absolute immunity only for Biden to turn around before the election and round up the justices, Trump, and the GOP on 5th avenue

Whatever about what Biden could do to Trump, should the absolute immunity argument hold, he most likely wouldn't do any of that due to still believing in this idea of healing division. Probably not that he even believes divisions can be healed at this point, but a better way to phrase it would be not widening them further. That's the threat Trump has been dangling over America for quite some time - go after him and you have his army of crazies to deal with, and you have to say that the remaining responsible American politicians, Democrat or Republican, have been largely cowed by it.
The guy who tried to assassinate Reagan spent 40 years in custody. If someone tried to assassinate Biden, Trump would probably offer a pardon, if not rewards. That, in a nutshell, is how far political discourse in America has fallen, and it hasn't been a steady decline. It's really been the last decade where it's utterly nosedived.

Surprised that the judges response to "I can't respond to the things people said about me as witnesses" wasn't that his chance will come if he wants to take the stand in his own defence.

He can't be legally compelled to, and it would be a disaster for him if he did.

No, he can't.
The Prosecution cannot call him, only the defense can.
He will tell everyone that he is absolutely going to testify but then claim at the last minute that he can't because of "something something witch-hunt" and not do it.
His base will buy the story hook, line and sinker and everyone else will know it's got nothing to do with any of the things he claims.
It's because his legal team know that he is incapable of telling the truth or sticking to a story and he would convict himself for this and probably a bunch of other crimes people don't know about yet because he is as stupid as he is arrogant.
Not made, however if he does take the stand to say that his encounter with Stormy never happened, then he's opening himself up to any questions the prosecution has about his past (to establish if he's credible and trustworthy), and even trump isnt that stupid to leave himself open to that.

There is no need for Trump to take the stand. As embarrassing as SD testimony is to him, the case does not revolve around whether he had sex with her, and whether it was consensual or not.
It is about whether he paid her 130k and whether he knowingly hid this. The reasons why he paid it is only relevant in so far as to establish a motive as to why he would would to hide the payment.
Trump will have forgotten about that as it is likely over a day old and someone else will have written it for him.
Now THAT is what hereditary privilege looks like.
