Both Martin and Leo as Taoiseach have stated very clearly that while Ireland is neutral militarily we are not neutral politically and are very much part of the world that believes in living in free open and democratic societies.
chaos
Western companies still doing business in Russia deserve to be burnt.
There are quite a few big players happy to do business there:

it looks like one of them despite the loony owners wishes has no choice now

Yeah any multinational who's operating in china is an idiot. India is the place to be or other south east Asian countries.
It only makes sense to operate in china if you're selling what you produce in China.
With prominent special Nazi guests of honour, partners in crime. History repeating itself.

A good argument can now be made that in the long term Russia lost the “Great Patriotic War” (aka WW2 minus the alliance with Nazis bits that they deleted from history) too, becoming everything (and worse) that they reviled in Nazis 1.0 whom millions of Russians (and Ukrainians) died defending against.
Another refinery
The Ukrainians have been flying remote controlled rigged prop-planes into Russian refineries, up to 800 miles
Now WSJ is making the arguments I made a couple weeks ago that Trump more than likely not only not abandon Ukraine but ratchet things up
https://www.wsj.com/politics/trump-is-unlikely-to-abandon-ukraineand-might-even-escalate-the-war-356a2825?st=m5o2318e9veja1g&reflink=desktopwebshare_permalink
“Because of continuing U.S. support for Ukraine and the impossibility of accepting such a humiliating defeat, a second Trump term would likely follow one of two scenarios: The war could simply go on as it did before, or the U.S. could become much more deeply involved.”
I mean the same is possible for Biden. Only reason he's not supporting Ukraine more is he doesn't want to lose too many votes in election year.
Whoever wins won't have re election to worry about and can go all in on Ukraine if they wish.
The Russian Kharkiv offensive has officially begun after massive shelling from the Belgorod region last night. Ukraine has prepared defences here so I'm guessing this attack is aimed to push Ukrainians further from Belgorod while pulling more troops away from the eastern front.
Apparently the first ground attacks were repulsed but we'll see how much Russia wants this. Makes a mockery of western powers saying Ukraine shouldn't use their weapons on Russian territory. If not already that needs to be scrapped.
Putin never had any ideas of his own. He went to college in St. Petersburg where he learned German. In East Germany he was the handler for a neo Nazi leader.
Some say he was a shoe salesman for a time in New Zealand as part for the KGB for intel.
He tried to sort out his gimpy walk experimenting with different shoes and insoles during this time but he could never get objective advice. Everyone when asked said he walked fine.
Hopefully this latest attack depletes Russia armour at an even faster pace.
This newest push by Russia is a direct result of the clusterf**k that was the delay and general f***ery that has gone on over the last few months as regards getting weaponry to Ukraine.
How many young Ukrainian lads and lassies are going to die today because they have to fend off an orc offensive with depleted resources ???
Just wrong.

For some reason I see this ending as all previous Russian offensives. Loosing a massive amount of armored vehicles and then proceeding to send in the meat waves. It's probably badly timed on the Russia side, the time to do it was before US aid was unlocked, not right after
Cameron has stated Ukraine can use any British weapon wherever they choose to, including in Russia. Also Ukraine are producing 155 self propelled artillery and shells, so if Ukraine wants to hit Russia directly using their own homegrown arms, they very much can.
God speed to the Ukraine defenders. Interesting to see if this is a full on offensive or a probing test of their defensive capabilities
Russia attempts a buffer zone it seems
Substantial force if to be believed
St. Petersburg. He's not going to go over the bridge is he?…
Very few tanks and equipment
This seems to be an early report
Used as a buffer zone seems more likely. Nowhere near enough to take a city
The latest videos suggest they've used up their desert cross buggies and are now mostly on scrambler bikes.
Most armies don't even have 400 tanks.
I guess the success of this attack depends on what kind of forces Ukraine has deployed to defend. But it's hard to see Russia taking a big city like Kharkiv with that number of troops.
Not a good start for the Russians
Word of day: demilitarisation
Unfortunately a lot of Ukrainians will die too fighting them off and if it goes badly for Russia I expect they will just start the usual tactic of bombing civilian infrastructure in Kharkiv and killing as many civilians as possible as revenge. So many unnecessary deaths because of slow Western support
